Her response does come across as passive aggressive but unless she’s always like that then why are we talking about it? We all behave in ways we don’t like upon reflection. We all (hopefully) grow and learn how to handle it better the next time. Unless you are ok with someone writing you off entirely or condemning you as a person because they don’t like how you spoke one day, then try to give the lady some grace and understanding. In 2016, the #AskHerMore movement gained significant attention during awards season as actresses and advocates pushed back against the media’s tendency to focus disproportionately on women’s appearances on the red carpet. The campaign, initiated by the Representation Project, encouraged reporters to ask actresses more meaningful and substantive questions about their careers, achievements, and personal causes instead of limiting conversations to fashion and beauty. Actresses like Blake Lively actively supported the movement. While Lively celebrated the artistry and creativity behind red carpet fashion, she expressed frustration with the double standard that often reduced women to their looks. She emphasized that actresses, like their male counterparts, deserved to be asked about their craft, projects, and passions. For Lively, it wasn’t about dismissing fashion entirely but about achieving a balance that acknowledged women’s contributions beyond their appearance. The movement was part of a broader conversation about gender equality in Hollywood, highlighting the need for more respectful and well-rounded media coverage of women in the industry. By 2016, #AskHerMore had become a rallying cry for change, reshaping how actresses engaged with the media during high-profile events.

Secondly, Café Society is a period piece set in the 1930s. Do you not think costumes would be a huge part of the movie and instrumental in helping actors get into character? If I were one of his clients, I'd be worried that he's got a bit too much on his plate. He did fine in the Baldwin trial, I guess, but people forget that things were looking pretty bad for Baldwin up until the prosecutor's misconduct was revealed. IMO Blake and Parker Posey were mad at the interviewer for asking about the pregnancy and for then talking about the outfits, and they made it a point to just talk to each other about other aspects of the movie while basically ignoring the interviewer. But even then, they still looked back at the interviewer plenty of times once they got past that point , and frankly it's also pretty common for actors to be looking more at each other when doing this type of interview, either because they're a bit uncomfortable, or they're seeking agreement from the other actor and/or hoping the other actor will chime in to provide support. I think it was kinda a bitchy thing to do, but certainly wasn't enough for me to conclude that Blake Lively is just a BAD person or something. It was completely overblown, and wasn't this stuff only "recovered" because of the smear campaign in the first place? This interview already existed, and it only went viral because this dude hired a PR firm to do all this bullshit because he had been harassing Blake Lively (among others) and was just doing this to run defense for his own shitty actions. If that's the case, I think it's kinda stupid to basically be cancelling her while this guy's trying to avoid his own cancellation.

CONTEXT IS HUGE re: the Flaa 2016 interview!!!! In 2016, it was the HUGE women’s movement in Hollywood - equal pay, parts, respect, treating women equally, etc. Part of that movement was actresses complaining that women are always asked about their babies, family, what are you wearing, etc and not asked the deeper questions about their characters, parts in film like the men are, “we want to be taken seriously”. Huge article in Vanity Fair that lays out the movement titled- 2016: The Year That Women in Hollywood Fought Back. That is why BL & Parker responded to her in that way. e Every major female celeb took part so much so if a journalist first question asked what are you wearing on the red carpet premiere, the actress walked away. Ryan Seacrest experienced major female stars walking away when he asked, what are you wearing EXAMPLE NICOLE KIDMAN. The entire female cast in Woody Allen’s movie were HUGE supporters and outspoken about the movement and Flaa strolled in as a female journalist and the first thing she asked, wardrobe and BL replied would that be asked to the men. Flaa literally showed she wasn’t supporting the women’s movement or she was tone deaf of the political climate at the time. And now, she is public shaming BL 8 years later thinking maybe no one will remember the 2016 Women’s Movement in Hollywood and the public are gullible - who won’t remember or care.

I totally disagree with your take on BL and Parker. Back then, one of the loudest voices addressing inappropriate questions was ScarJo, who directly confronted an interviewer asking if she wore underwear under her costume. Many actresses handled such situations with strength and grace, without resorting to the passive-aggressive, mean-girl behavior BL displayed. Honestly, I think it’s disrespectful to compare BL to those trailblazing actresses. In the interview you’re referring to, Parker was actually trying to defuse the situation after BL commented to the interviewer, “Congratulations on your bump,” by jokingly adding, “What about my bump?” Parker even attempted to redirect the conversation back to the movie by asking the interviewer a question about Woody Allen’s films. When the interviewer brought up the topic of costumes, Parker began to respond, but BL cut her off and seemingly convinced Parker to turn on the interviewer. It came across as unnecessary and forced drama, undermining what could have been a more professional moment.

She could have simply apologized for her behavior with the Norwegian interviewer and admitted she was having an off day-just like Anne Hathaway did, which resolved her PR issue quickly. Similarly, with the promotion of the movie, it’s all being blamed on Sony’s marketing plan, as if she was just following the contract and saying, “Not my fault.” She could have come forward and said, “I’m sorry that I didn’t do more to raise awareness about domestic violence. I will do better.” Instead, BL seems to refuse to take accountability for anything. This behavior is reminiscent of Amber Heard during her case, where, despite overwhelming evidence in court, she wouldn’t admit to even the smaller missteps.

During the production of *It Ends With Us*, Blake Lively alleged that Justin Baldoni, who was both the director and her co-star, contacted her personal trainer without her consent, suggesting she lose weight-a request she found unnecessary and humiliating. Baldoni reportedly justified his actions by claiming there was a scene in the script that required him to lift her, but Lively later discovered no such scene existed, leading her to believe the request was baseless and reflective of sneaky weight-shaming. The situation escalated when Lively fell ill with strep throat during filming, and Baldoni offered to connect her with an expert to aid her recovery. However, upon completing the necessary forms, Lively realized the so-called "expert" was actually a weight-loss specialist, which she interpreted as another instance of body-shaming disguised as concern. These incidents, combined with other alleged inappropriate behaviors, became key components of a legal complaint Lively filed against Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and fostering a hostile work environment, painting a troubling picture of the dynamics on set.

Hi Melanie, I am a fan. However in this case you got a few things wrong. It was posted several times by Ms Flaa that absolute NO requests were ever made that Blake didn't want any questions regarding her pregnancy. In fact, her pregnancy was discussed by her and other reporters the days prior and the days thereafter of which she took no offense. It may be true that our behaviour may be influenced during pregnancy, but the way the two actresses teamed up and belittled her is NOT OK. That type of bullying should not be tolerated by anyone. Blake's behaviour during pregnancy is one thing, but she had more than multiple opportunity to handle this matter and she still continued acted inappropriately. Now blaming someone else for that behaviour, is disgusting. Ms Flaa has nothing and had nothing to do with Justin. This was noted by both Ms Flaa and Justin. To connect it now to pretend he is to blame and bring Ms Flaa up as an example is nothing short of gaslighting. We should not support woman blindly, and if anyone wants to use the notion of woman supporting each other, why did Blake do the moving with Woody Allen and didn't support his daughter? I am sorry Melanie, the latest information coming out is also not supporting her presentation of text messages. Sexual harassment is a serious issue and should not be used by people who are abusers and now use it as an excuse by making stories up.

Blake may have been offended that her baby was referred to as a bump. Who knows? She handled or moment not great, but I don’t think it has anything to do with misogyny in the workplace. This guy (if the allegations are true) sounds just awful. 🤢

I thought BL questioning the interviewer question about clothing was correct push back abiut the double standard that STILL exists. It wasn't mean or aggressive. We have to stop saying that when women are assertive. Another assinine comment is calling a woman emotional or sensitive when they are animated or defending themselves from actual aggression.

It’s not just Blake it’s both Parker and Blake talking with each other. They seem very into each other and the interviewer seems fine letting them talk. If this is the interview that makes her look bad 😂 seriously.

Is she though? Clips from 2, maybe 3, interviews don’t make someone a “genuine bully”. Most of the stories about her over the years have never been substantiated and even though she’s done some kinda crap stuff at best, it doesn’t mean she deserves harassment. I dunno why nobody seems to think a Hollywood actress might not have been deeply actually hurt by being called “bumpy.” Everyone thinks it’s so mean because flaa can’t conceive but the EXACT SAME WORDS said fifteen seconds previously couldn’t have wounded lively?

Thank you. I’ve never even been pregnant yet that kind of “congratulations” makes me cringe every time I hear it said to someone else. And it’s worth remembering she was in the middle of a day of junkets and they are gruelling on mental health. It’s possibly that interviewers only job outside of writing that day, so I understand when sometimes actors get a bit snippy.

Personally, I was not surprised by that interviewers statement about the bump. Over the years what I remember from Blake Lively post Gossip Girl is a lot about fashion, and especially fashion during her pregnancy. I also recall her being fairly open in interviews giving tidbits about being pregnant and how they want to raise their kids. So I personally did not see an issue with an interviewer congratulating a person on celebratory news that was made public. Clearly that should not be the focus of an interview when discussing professional projects but there are also blurred lines when that is part of the person's brand and public talking points.

Now if Kjersti calls herself a journalist.. and even if she was not aware of that at the time of the interview.. she had to learn about that later. Yet this woman pretends like she has no clue what happened and why it happened. I watched one of the videos Kjersti made , but one video was enough if you wanted to "explain yourself", yet kjersti keeps making videos over and over and over. It was questionable to me that Kjersti would be so butt hurt about a video from 6 years ago.. that she suddenly had to PUT OUt.. 6 years ? and as a journalist she is HUrt? I do not trust kjersti , whatever her motives are. Dont know when she posted her 6 year old video but if it was posted during the attack on Blake , then Kjersti is definitely part of it. And she keeps doing it.

@@georgewashington3555 the other reason I question it, she interviewed BL 2 years after that for A Simple Favor that went well. BL was nice, playful, engaged Flaa when Kendrick was talking directly to her and BL redirected to Flaa. It ended with laughter, pleasantries, nice to meet you and a handshake. But of course, Flaa doesn’t mention that in her repetitive comments about her feelings.
