We had this happen 3 weeks ago. My 3 kids had to come 30 to 40 miles ,ambulance had 8 miles to go. They beat us to the hospital and were inside waiting when we got there. My husband had had a stroke. God blessed us and he is doing well. Keith I'm sorry you and your sister had to go thru this.

So I'll show my age, but this or "Austin" was Blakes first big hit. He was a young'un when he put this out, and the talent rolled off that boy. He's been throwing out #1's ever since and the talent has never stopped. Blake has always been true to his Country roots as well, he'll never leave true Coutnry music. Love Blake always!!

I agree all this song needs is just Blake and his acoustic guitar this was my grandma’s favorite song she always cried towards the end and I would laugh at her but I was only 10 years old but when she passed away without warning I never got to say goodbye and when I randomly heard it. I lost it

This song, other than the obvious, makes me think of Over You he wrote with ex Miranda. He lost his brother to a car accident and it hit him very hard. She recorded it bc he didn’t think he could get through it. So if you want to give a vote to this one, watch “Over You” Live -Blake Shelton. He sings it, very sweaty, sitting on a stool with his guitar, and you can see the pain all these years later. Btw, for me, I watch you for your reactions. Pausing frequently is what it’s about. I can watch a song straight through any time. I’m here for your takes on it for lots of reasons. You’re my faves for your input, humor, straight reactions, guitar stuff, I can go on. Pls don’t change.

I got the call. My sister and I drove together. On the way there she said to me "don't make this about you!" My mother had 7 kids, 2 lived with her at the time. Four of us lived more than an hour away. One was about 10 minutes away. Some visited her maybe once every 2 years. The same sister and I visited at least once a month. The local one helped her out more often. But, I called her almost every night. Those conversations would last hours. My mom and I were very close. So, to hear someone say don't make this about yourself was cold and heartless.

Would you guys add Austin to your list please? It's his very first hit and still my top favorite. But this one and Ole Red are his three best I think. God's Country and his newest one Come Back as a Country Boy have Blake going back to his country roots. I know you've already done a few of these. lol - and yes I remember when Blake's cd first came out - and his blue eyes were GLOWING off the cover. I could see them from down the aisle.

The last time my mom and I went to her favorite restraunt, the waitress told us a story. The waitress' great grandfather was Danish and knew that she would pick coins up off the ground. The day he passed, she found a coin from his home country in the parking lot of where she worked in the US. My mom liked to collect pennies and she handed her collection off to me before she passed. I was working the day she passed and found a penny sitting perfectly upon a concrete column cap (4 sided pyramid). It hadn't been there the day before and no customers had been near that spot during that day. I saw it and knew that she was gone. The call didn't suprise me.

Oh well.. great reactions anyways guys! Stay blessed🙏

This song always brings tears to my eyes because it reminds me of my mom whom I lost in 2008. I was with her luckily when she passed. This song however describes how things were for me growing up as I was the baby. My siblings said the same things about me and I did things my other siblings didn't. I do love the song though for those reasons also. You should check out One Night Standards by Ashley McBryde. Have you ever tired Four Roses Bourbon?

Great reaction is always guys. When I dealt with this it was me assuring my boyfriend that my brother was not going to kill us that he could actually handle what he was doing. As he drove go 130 miles an hour over a twisty one and a half Lane country road. This song strikes a chord I think cuz everybody at some point or another in their adult life has to face this. And well the music itself was not necessarily the most complex in the world or the most grandiose the message oh got the message couldn't have been more honest

2 years ago I got a call at 3 am from my Dad. All he told me was "I'm in the back of an ambulance, I just Rolled the Forrester and I need you to go get your Mom and bring her up to the hospital." Then he hung up. I like about 15 minutes from my parents house. . . I was up dressed, in the car, and to their house in under 7 minutes. Yes, Speed Limits became suggestions (which I choose to ignored), and Red Lights became Yield/Stop Signs. Mom was still on the phone with Dad when I got to their house! Thankfully Dad was Ok. It took Mom a few minutes to talk me down and assure me that Dad didn't seem to be seriously injured. He hit a patch of gravel from some road construction on an offramp and spun off the road and rolled down a 40' embankment onto the sholder of the highway below. It is a miracle he walked away with only a mild concussion and no other injuries, aside from general soreness. I choose not to dwell on what "could" have been and instead focus on being grateful he is Ok. Between Covid and this Accident, perspective really hit me hard that I need to cherish the time I have with both my parents. I'm extremely fortunate to have an incredible relationship with both of them, much closer than either of my sisters. I think I tend to take that for granted at times, but I hate to think about living without them. I know that day will probably come, but for now I try to be aware and grateful for the time I have with them.

@@BourbonCountryReacts True, but I consider myself something of a country music fan and haven't heard a lot of the requested songs. My Momma died when I was 3 but I can very much relate to it for my Grandma that raised me, she passed away when I was 21 and I was at work when I got the call that she was on the way to the ER and I worked at a hospital about 5 miles away from where she was going and my boss drove me there and I bet we were going at least 120 and I do not recommend this but since was still in my scrubs I walked right in the back and into her room in the ER while they were working on her and nobody even realized I was there and I watched her take her last breath. I was completely devastated, she was my whole world being an only child with no other parents . EVERYONE PLEASE, if you have parents still living or grandparents hold them tight and tell them how much you love them now and get Momma something good for Mother’s Day , you’ve got 7 days it’s this coming up Sunday .

180 doesn't rhyme as well lol Old Blake imo was more country. God's country is good but his stuff getting more "modern" especially since getting with the blondy. Over is a song about his brother he lost, that Miranda sang when they were still married. I think there is actually a performance of them singing it together somewhere. The older stuff though isn't as modern sounding.
