3/8" Right Angle Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring Kit is the industry's most powerful right angle impact wrench. You’ll be able to easily remove stubborn bolts and fasteners with up to 220 ft-lbs. of nut-busting torque. This cordless right angle impact wrench also gives you maximum access with ultimate control in hard to reach applications. Our durable cordless impact wrench easily fits into tight spaces with a profile head of only 2.2 inches. This allows you to be more productive by decreasing your need for socket extensions often used with pistol-grip impact tools. The 4-Mode Drive Control delivers unmatched control in various fastening and bolt removal applications. Modes 1-3 provide RPM and IPM adjustments for maximum precision, and Mode 4 is equipped with Auto Shut-off in forward and Bolt Removal Mode in reverse. Our Auto Shut-off Mode will prevent over-tightening of bolts by applying no more than 15 ft-lbs. of torque. Bolt Removal Mode provides more control by drastically slowing down RPMs once the bolt is loosened. The REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence ensures you achieve maximum performance and protection against overloads, over-heating, and over-discharge. This cordless ⅜” impact wrench is powered by MILWAUKEE® M12™ REDLITHIUM™ Battery Packs, which are compatible with all M12™ tools, delivering more work per charge and more work over the life of the pack.

That fourth setting is for taking off fasteners after it breaks them loose it automatically cuts rpm way down so your fasteners don’t go flying off in a lower earth orbit lol

Hey Blake. I’m torn here. Ive been researching/watching videos for several hours now, racking my brain on which tool to get! I’m not a mechanic but I do stuff here and there around the house and now I’m getting ready to work my 2002 F-150 that needs some loving. For starters, I’m getting ready to take the seats out. My father has just retired, he’s now 66. He has lots of tools, including the m18 high impact, frigging obnoxious! But I want to leave the man alone since he was kind enough for me to use them when I do some fixer uppers on his property that he couldn’t do. I got my Torx impact sockets already but the tool.....I would love to own just 1, to do EVERYTHING, would you recommend the 1/2 drive RIGHT ANGLE for it?

Get the mid torque impact gun with proper impact sockets. The mid torque will handle just about anything you need to do as an DIYer with 650+ lb fts of torque. The new generation is very small like the Stubby shown here. The impact wrench is nice but very limited in power when working on things like car suspensions. I was working on my car's wheel bearings for example and the axle but is torqued at 242 ft lbs - more when you consider rust. There is no way in hell the impact wrench is going to get that off. Could I loosen it by hand with a breaker bar? Sure, but what's the point of powered tools if I have to do it by hand? Smaller bolts you can remove by hand if need be. If you haven't already bought a power tool I hope this helps.

If that can break rear caliper bolts on the heavy duty trucks and vehicles i work on. It'll be worth every cent. No more bashing a wrench with a hammer because of clearance.

It should be able to I know I was using my half inch stubby on my front brake calipers with no issue so I would imagine this would do some rears as it’s only down a few foot pounds of torque to that.

I was a avionics tech and crew chief for 39 years. First thing I look at during a guy reviewing tools is if his tools are a lil dirty. You passed and l loved you video. At 57 I am ergonomically challenged. I want to still do my own vehicle repairs but I need a power tool to get that hardware off quick. Milwaukee beats all competition in the 12 volt arena. On aircraft mods I bought the 1/4" apex driver and that was awesome. I think after watching this I will go with both ratchets featured here. Thanks for the demo

Did they make the M12 fuel line for people that needed less powerful smaller tools or because the tool collectors were running out of M18 stuff to buy? Still amazed with my first milwaukee tools. M12 fuel hammer drill and impact driver set.

Haha right! M12 is lighter weight for light duty most of the time but it's amazing how much power these tools output in the M12 Fuel lineup

If they could give the right angle impact a ratcheting mechanism and either recess the front to make room for part of a socket or release low profile impact sockets, this thing would be amazing. Anybody know whether there's much difference between the 3/8" and 1/2"?

Guys if you don’t already own this tool do NOT waste your money. It’s not worth it. I’m personally waiting for a second generation of this model. The stubby paired with the 3/8 extended ratchet completely makes this tool a waste of time.

Hey man loved the review thanks for doing that. My Dad has one of the older M18 1/4 inch impact drill drivers and I just LOVE THAT THING, so much power to the point I break the head off deck screws all the time.

Great tool but I wouldn't use the regular sockets with impact tools. You can easily brake the regular sockets with the impact gun. I know they have a lifetime warranty but I would not want to break my expensive sockets if I can help it.

I received the 1/2" and used it, it failed, only removed one bolt. I returned and exchanged for the 3/8" model, I used it today on a Cummins ISX CM-871 to remove the oil cooler housing. It runs the entire length of the motor, and is darn close to the frame rail, 20 16mm fasteners in all. My 3.8" stubby was not much help. So, I went out to the car, just got that thing from HD the other day, still in the box... Unwrapped it, through in a Chinese knock off 6 amp battery and slapped on the 3/8 to 1/2" adapter and 16mm impact socket and went to town! This 3/8" right angle removed all but one bolt. Instead of using a gasket on that housing, they loaded it up with RTV. Each bolt was covered in the stuff, every hole was full. The last bolt, the one it could not remove, was a real bugger, I used my 2 foot long 1/2" ratchet on that one, and it was really gummed up with RTV, I could see why the right angle would not remove it. Saved my bacon today time wise, it is a keeper! But, what get's me, is why are the 3/8" version is seemingly more powerful than the larger 1/2"? They are identical other than the anvil, must be some sort of physics thing I guess...

I just purchased this new right angle impact mostly for caliper bolts and it failed me on the first car. I had to grab the m12 stubby with a swivel socket and got the bolts removed instantly. I love the concept of the tool but I’m already doubting its worthiness.
@BlakesGarage

Well it's down 20pound feet over the stubby and caliper bolts are usually pretty damn tight. I definitely use the stubby there usually but I'll have to try this. That's why I have bigger ones also in case I need more torque. I used this on the S3 the other day and it worked wonders getting into places and breaking stuff loose my M12 ratchet couldn't.
