WoW, french savoir faire! The Signature stand above with the S165's a close second. Thank you for the tests. Wished the brand was more familiar in Australia because it deserves to be.

Hello ! I have all Blam speakers in my car, Relax series in the rear and Live series in front. Generally I like the sound coming from them but I know it could be better. The worst of all in the live series I think is the tweeter(also the Signature tweeter in the video doesn't seem to be a lot better too), the Multix one sounds just amazing in comparison ! Could you do a midrange comparison videoo too plz ? I have the LFR80 and I want to know if a upgrade to the Signature or Multix series is worth it. Thanks !

One question... I saw in the video that the woofer (WS6) works with a frequency response of 80 Hz - 6 KHz. The tweeter (TSM25Mg 70 HR) works from 2.4 kHz - 43 kHz. Sorry for the question, as I'm a layman on the subject and I'm trying to learn about quality audio... They say that the human ear can only hear from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. If the tweeter goes up to 43 kHz, all frequencies that go from 20 to 43 kHz don't make sense because they wouldn't be heard by our ears?

Great question! But yes the human hear up to 20k and as you get older it’s lower. We did a video that covers this exact subject, please check it out it will explain the answer in detail.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIXWZqSgoqaro5osi=J1jrAz4LGIaEYfMp Go to the 5:31 mark.

Hey thank you for that video but I would love for you to make another one that will talk about matching tweeters with amps because this is something I’ve been struggling with for a long time! From what I understand is that is first I need to take the RMS power of the speaker and multiply it by 1.2 so I can find the correct power amp for it and it should be the same impedance as well! So 15x1.2= 18wrms at 5ohm (these isn’t any amp with 5ohm for car audio so what should I do in that case) for these and then I need to use the ohm law to set the gain V= square root (18x5)= 9.45 so here is my gain setting Am I correct to do it like that?

There are very few tweeters that will take more than 20-30 watts, realistically. Although a lot will say 70 or even 100w +. If you buy a good set of components, the hardware will prevent the tweeters from taking too much power. Your formula for 1.2x RMS is fine, but go for the RMS rating of the largest speaker in the set, such as the woofer or in the example of this video, 125w.

To add about the impedance, look for an amp thats stable at the lowest ohms for the speakers. You can run a 1ohm stable amp at 2 or 4 or even 5ohms. The lower the stable ohms on the amp, the more power it can output. Running a component set like this which is 2ohm on the woofer and 5 on the tweeter will result in the woofer taking more power than the tweeter. 100w@2ohms for example, might only put out 35w@5ohms. Amps for components likely will be stable as low as 2ohms where 1ohm amps are typically for 2 or more subs.

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your thoughts! It sounds like you're on the right track with trying to match your tweeters with an amplifier, but let's clarify a few points to help you out. Firstly, the practice of multiplying the RMS power of the speaker by 1.2 to find a suitable amplifier is a good starting point. It gives you a buffer to ensure the amp can comfortably power the speaker without distortion or damage. However, car audio usually deals with standard impedance levels of 2, 4, or sometimes 8 ohms, not normally 5 ohms. If your tweeters are indeed rated at 5 ohms impedance is less important than you might think. Amplifiers are generally flexible within a range of impedances, and most can handle a slight variance without issue. You would typically choose an amp that can handle loads closer to 4 ohms in this case. Regarding setting the gain using Ohm's Law, V = (P * R) (where V is voltage, P is power in watts, and R is resistance in ohms) is used to determine the voltage level to set for a specific power output at a given impedance. Your calculation of (18 * 5) = 9.45V for gain setting is conceptually on the right path for finding the target voltage output from the amplifier to the speakers to achieve 18 watts RMS at 5 ohms. However, it's crucial to note that setting gains accurately often involves more than just this calculation. It's about matching the output level of your source unit to the input sensitivity of your amplifier to ensure clean, undistorted sound. Most car audio enthusiasts and professionals use an oscilloscope, multimeter or DD1 and test tones to set amplifier gains accurately. This ensures the amplifier's output matches the speaker's requirements without introducing distortion. Given the nuances in matching tweeters and amplifiers, especially with considerations like impedance and gain setting, I see the value in creating a detailed video on this topic. I'll work on providing a clear, step-by-step guide that covers these aspects and the best practices for setting your amplifier's gain correctly. We do have a videos that cover these topics but nothing in great detail. Stay tuned, and thanks for the suggestion!

@@BreakersStereo thank you soooo much can’t wait for your video 🤩 Btw I do understand better and I do have a DD1 but I feel like I can’t use the DD1 if the amp is higher wrms then the speaker and have to use the multimeter so I won’t exceed the max V of the speaker even if the amp can give more without distortion Do you see what I mean or am going about it the wrong way? PS it’s very hard to find amp that can provide power to tweeter since they are at the minimum 50wrms and most tweeters are around 15 to 25wrms (wish I create my own brand of amps, speakers and headunit 😭)
