What an awesome drama. I have always loved watching Stewart Granger in any movie, and Valarie Hobson was a great actress too. But the story was the real star of this movie.

One of those.. very few films that come around in me recommended at least once each year .. and which I always watch, again. A lesson in how to write a ‘darker’ drama.

Never seen this film before.. Probably too young to have been interested in watching it first time around. Really enjoyed it.

It was an engrossing drama. He lost it the last second but then again his son would inherit it so it went back to the original Fury's after all. If only the man was patient a little longer. He could have had it all. Valerie Hobson was amazing, and I know how good Stewart Granger is, I watch anything I find with him in it.

Wish I could read the novel it was based on, apparently it's based on a real case.

@@nenabunenaYou mean that it apparently happened in real life and it was written about in a novel?
@nenabunena10 ай бұрын
@42kellys there's a novel of the same name by Marjorie Bowen aka Joseph Shearing, apparently it was based on a real case. I got this from imdb trivia

Loved Stewart Granger films and Valerie Hobson was great here and what a beautiful beige-lace ballgown she had on and mourning outfits.

He should be shooting only in colored movies. He is gorgeous here.

Actually they both were responsible for that. She definitely knew what was happening and didn’t call for the help. But only he was punished.

Stewart Granger played slightly off-centre rogues creditably. I give you Footsteps in the Fog by way of example.

Granger was best in these early, British pictures: he somehow 'lost it' when he went to Hollywood (as did David Farrar).
