Blanik L-13 Wing Modification Program E2

Airframe Components staff spent a week recently with a team of three from Blanik, located in Prague in the Czech Republic, learning about their L13 Glider Modification Program. One engineer and two technicians tutored Airframe staff on how to fix a wing problem.
In this second video, Roy and the Blanik engineer talk about how the wing modification was made, the process used, and the problems overcome along the way by excellent team work.
Blanik's glider fleet has been grounded for 10 years until modifications can be made.
Airframe Components will now be the second in the world (the only one outside of the factory) to make these repairs thanks to this teamwork!

what year was the 2nd set of wings?

What is the cost of this modification? What does LET charge for a new set of L13 wings and did the own buy them?

Just a guess, but I'm thinking $15,000 for the repair. A refurbished Blanik L13 is about $28,000 FOB Czechoslovakia, so a new wing at least half that? A brand NEW L23 is above $80,000 and these are the only two place, all metal gliders available worldwide, so the 2000 or so L13s worldwide are worth fixing. A fixed L13 in Washington state is for sale for $53K.

How do you get Aircraft delivered to your facility? When and where are the wings removed/installed?

Most sailplanes live on their trailers. Wings are designed to be easily removed.

It really sucks. I found a project plane, with extras, only to discover that there is so much that can not be done By a normal small back yard builder, just to make sure the plane is savable. At this point it's looking like the only affordable way for a poor man to fly is a used powered paraglider.
