Blase R8 - caliber change and zeroing

My Blaser R8 rifle got a new .223Rem barrel, just showing how easy it is to swap calibers with these rifles. I put an older Swarovski 6-24x50 TDS-4i on top. I only tried Sako 50gr factory ammo I had available, it shoots OK at about 1" group, but will start reloading soon, so hopefully should improve. Will follow up with another video once I start reloading for it.

Blaser R8 doczekał się nowej lufy .223 Rem. Luneta to starszy już model Swarovskiego 6-24x50, z krzyżem TDS-4i, który czekał w kartonie już długi czas na swoją kolej... Na razie wypróbowałem tylko amunicję Sako 50gr, którą dostałęm razem z lufą. Skupienie jakieś 2.5cm, na polowanie jest ok, ale niedługo zacznę eleborować do tego kalibry i mam nadzieję się trochę poprawi.

Nie można i jest to bardzo niebezpieczna zabawa. Spłonka prócz samego zapłonu prochu pełni też inne rolę, między innymi uszczelnia łuskę tak że gazy prochowe po strzale wydostają się tylko w jednym kierunku. W takim przypadku to gwarancja uszkodzenia broni, zamka i pewnie "urwany ryj".

Give the 63gr Sierra smp a try if you can get them they have shoot well out of everything i have tried them in and are great for hunting

Any soft point 55+ grains will do the job. I mainly use 55gr Sierra GK #1365.

Lufę .308 już pewnie mam z 6 lat i jeszcze ani razu nie strzeliłem nic z otwartych... dla mnie zbędne, w dodatku zahacza o futerał przy wyjmowaniu/wkładaniu. DB

Interesting ,I should imagine quite an expensive change barrel ,bolt face and magazine? Also not a fan of Loctiting Scope ring screws ,bases yes , but not the rings , as you can get problems removing ‘scope and possibly damaging it after. Interesting piece anyway.

Need it on the range (target shooting, running boar), but will also use it on roe deer and foxes.

Have had R8 for about 6-7 years I think and R93 before that, never had any problems with Blaser rifles.

@@docooo Never tried 404 apart from looking at one on one of the trade shows. The spec looks good similar to R8, but for some reason it is not very popular here in Poland . Similar price to R8 but I do not know anyone using it.

No, only had a few Sako factory rounds to try I got with the barrel. Hopefully when I start reloading for it, it will show its full potential.

Ok understood. From the "small" calibers my favourite is 22-250💪
