Nice work. This was a very clear presentation of the Blaser system. However, they missed an important point or did not emphasize enough what interchangeable barrels give the owner. The Blaser platform gives the owner the same stock, the same safety, the same trigger, the same trigger pull and the same length of pull for all calibers. This makes the Blaser R8 stand out from the crowd of other very well made and beautiful rifles. The hunter only need learn the function of one rifle platform for all calibers. This is a tremendous benefit to muscle memory, mechanical memory and most of all safe operating. The owner only needs to learn how to operate one rifle from .22 caliber to .375 HH and beyond. AWESOME!

Well, this is also true for a Merkel Helix. It goes even further - it has also the same scope.

You basically have to change everything except the stock and safety. I wouldn’t call it an easy or affordable swap. It’s not like swapping a TC encore. Or a New England Firearms single shot.

Best factory produced rifle on the market and yes, the thumbhole stock is a major improvement on the basic stock. I have 2 R8s, 1 with the original pistol grip and 1 with the thumbhole both in composite material. They are excellent.

I have an R8 in .300 Weatherby Magnum. I have fired about 10 rounds through it and have recently observed a noticeable amount of movement in the stock, particularly at the area of the front sling swivel. It takes very little pressure on the stock to make the barrel and stock touch. Is this going to cause accuracy issues in the future? Are the synthetic stocks made to have this much flex in them?

You are often advertizing Blaser's barrel exchange system as possibility to combine all calibers from 222 to 500 jeffrey in single rifle. In practice however it does not seem to be possible. Safari calibres is posdible to order only with safari stocks (and presumably only with steel action). I personally woul like to order R8 ultimate with three barrels - 416 remington, 8,5x55 blaser, and 6,5x55 swedish mauser. Is that possible at all?
@BlaserRifles3 жыл бұрын
Hello Zoran Slavnic, thank you for your question. If you order a R8 Ultimate with three barrels - it is possible to change them. You need to keep an eye on some important things: Make sure you get two different bolt heads as the 6.5x55 is a Standard caliber and the .416 and the 8.5x55 will need a magnum bolt head. Moreover you'll need to think about your fore-end. Safari barrels have 22mm and the standard barrels 17mm. Because of the exchangeable systems its possible to get a standard fore-end and a wider one to change. It is possible to use the 17mm in the wider fore-end. It's simply what you prefer and how you think it looks best for you. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us. Best regards Your Blaser Team

Is it neccesary to have steel action if one use safari barrel? Regards Z

Comparing the Blaser to a Merkel, the Merkel has a few but distinguishing features. For example, the hand cocking system works almost noiselessly on the Merkel, but it's actually pretty loud on the Blaser, also, almost every single feature on a Merkel hunting rifle is included, while Blaser charges their customers with a pretty hefty price. Quality wise a Merkel is in no way inferior to a Blaser.

You'll need to drop the price if you want to increase the sales in the US now that the Savage Impulse is hitting the market.
@jmkhenka3 жыл бұрын
You cant compare the savage impulse to this. They might want yto, but there is nothing elegant about it. Its an american product made for american consumers, blasers are for rich european customers and everthing is though through. American cheap rifles are barely sold here and is generaly looked down upon, mass produced rifles. Its like mercedes or high end audis, if you lower the price consumers will think there is something wrong with them.
@fabulousoffroaddesigns50803 жыл бұрын
@@jmkhenka I think everyone will compare them. You see the Impulse has an adjustable synthetic ambidextrous stock, an internal chassis, an ambidextrous bolt handle, interchangeable barrels, and shoots sub MOA. The difference is you'll be able to buy many aftermarket stocks, chassis, 10 shot clips, and all scopes and mounts will fit. Oh and the Savage costs 1/3RD the PRICE!!! ...and so do all the accessories! As for elegant, wait until you see one in a walnut WOOX Furiousa chassis. You may get it then.

The only thing you need to do to change Ammunition types and caliber is to change the barrel. That’s it!!!!! …..oh and also just change the bolt size, magazine, which is also the trigger group so you need a magazine & trigger group….. But yeah! Only a Barrel swap and you’re good to go from 375h&h to .223!!!!!! …. And swap everything else on the rifle but the stock….. ahem…. 🙄
@dalehill6127Ай бұрын
Not quite true. You use the same trigger group, the mag is a drop-in insert to it. You buy a 3-piece kit for a new calibre (including when switching to a rimfire): barrel, bolt head (not complete bolt) and mag insert. 😊

I'm NOT sorry to say... But that is NOT how you do fast shooting with a blaser R8 prof success. Attention: you NEVER get your thumb out from the thumb hole... Blaser...you need to make a video... IT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BLASER AND MERKEL Blaser it's linear but NOT WITH A TURNING bolt like Merkel Helix, this is why blaser go faster. Take a Blaser turn it, and the bolt will close and lock in it's inertia by gravity. Merkel can never do that. I wonder if the new Savage or the Strasser can do it like Blaser. I own a Blaser R8 prof success. I have tried the Merkel Rx Helix with the omega thumb hole...Merkel is good, no doubt BUT even if it's a "omega" thumb hole you will never be as fast as with a Blaser. You cannot pull and push the bolt with the 2nd and 3rd finger like with a blaser...or probably I need to train more?! I have the feeling that my hand is lower with the omega grip of Merkel Rx Helix... On the other hand, with a Merkel Helix without a thumb hole it goes fast and it has some advantages over Blaser, like, for example, the possibility to have spare magazines. Ah...German(IC) rifles, carbines and optics they are all great...the prices are "great" also, but...they worth it without any doubt. I love my R8 prof success in 30.06 with Khales Helia optics, I reccomend +++ I'm happy with my investment, I don't need to change my rifle. And frankly I don't need the latest model...for me, it doesn't bring any advantages, it does surely for many others... In a driven hunt like here in Europe...you hear the dogs or the game coming...you cock the rifle, wait...and after that, when you acquire the target(s) you shoot fast without moving your thumb from the hole, you pull and push the bolt with your 2nd and 3rd finger...after that you decock. Make a good video Blaser on how to really exploit your fast bolt.
