The front half was from the four door B4 80 or 4000 in the US. The coupe and ur-quattro had the flatter windshields compared to the upright four door model. That’s how they shortened the wheel base.

If you reduce air flow you reduce tourqe you can tune to make alot of tourqe lower in the rev range by craming as much boost in as early as posible were the restricter is less restrictive for lack of a better explanation but just adding a restrictor will not add tourqe .. making changes to the turbo you could make more tourqe lower in the rev range if the current turbo was out of its efficiency on the compressor map
