I have loved British comedy all my life and cut my teeth on The Goons, Hancock, The Carry Ons and such. I'm now 70 and still love it. This chap was very very funny.

One of the best raconteurs of all time, Blaster Bates is the genius of Cheshire culture. Middlewich and Holmes Chpelle(as he called it) were the scenes of his life-threatening comedy.

This ought to carry a government health warning!! I've split my sides, laughing. Better than an awful lot of so called comedians.

He was a friend of mine. He used to take me range shooting as a kid. He was exactly the same in person. A great man, and really missed.

I always chuckle when Blaster says "Will you tell him. I've got a gammy leg". If you remove the full stop it's quite funny. It's like a Nurse's name tag - it says Shiela and a patient will ask "What's the other one called"?

In case anybody's not aware this was also on Blaster's first LP Laughter With A Bang under the title The Shower Of Shit Over Cheshire

My Dad was a huge fan of Blaster, and I wanted to get him a special father's day present this year. Never came on to thank you for the recomendation, I had no idea Blaster made any recordings but I was able to order them all for pennies. Such a great storyteller, Dad was over the moon when he unwrapped them, so thank you very much for making a special day that much better!
