I hate new sand paper rolls I usually hit something with it first to round off the tip. Also there is a company that makes a wax block that you hit with the sander and it lubricates the sand paper and leaves a very nice finish. Nice work....

You can work the cylinder head to increase compression (run race gas). That will give you back the power down low.

depends on your engine.. some have to small intake some to small exhaust outlet some have to small reed.., "tune" all the weakest spots, and max tuned is turning all weakest and normals to best if you want to do this just mind to get it fit to your exhaust flow and diameter

This serves to reduce heat into the port tunnel by reducing surface area but really it probably not much else.

you're forgetting its a 2 stroke and the rpm's are always high anyway..if you ride it right

so your trying to give it more power at high rpm at the expense of your low rpm power? ok that makes sense lol

I don't think that you fully understand all-encompassing engine building. There is no power adding part that has absolutely no trade off. The 5-10% loss of low power at lower rpm is mitigated by the +/-20% gain on high power within the power-band on a mild port. I'd sacrifice 2-3 loss on the bottom end of my banshee to gain 10-15 in the range where it's designed to be used. It's a no brainer. Well, it is to those of us who actually ride.

You don't need to know any of that to know how to do a port clean-up. He's not teaching how to design a drag port.
