Depends on how closely the Chinese firm doing their manufacturing is able to replicate their original quality. China does not always equal bad, especially with amplifiers where there is very little to differentiate them besides wattage. China has most amps sounding the same, all things being equal.

Jim, I don’t know if you did any back checking on Blaupunkt, but it is FAR from being an “off-brand”. The company was formed in 1924 and released the FIRST-ever car radio in 1932. The company is mainstream and has been since before I bought my first car radio in 1992. While they’ve fallen to the wayside a little in recent years, they’re still worthy of being considered high end. Please check your facts before making erroneous claims about brands. Not once did I say Blaupunkt hasn't been around for years. Not once did I say Blaupunkt wasn't a good brand in the past. Not once did I say it was a bad amplifier. I didn't make a single erroneous claim in this video. It's ironic. Anytime we make a Kicker video everyone says we suck and kicker sucks because they sell it at Walmart. Then we make a video on an amplifier that only sells at Walmart and everyone criticizes us for not talking about what it used to be.

So at a dollar for dollar cheaper cost, what's the downside? Longevity? Will it breakdown sooner, or output less power over time? Or are others simply marked up? Ive got JBL 2way 6.5 coaxials in the rear doors of my 08 Silverado crewcab , and 6.5 components up front. They are all running off my pioneer head units '50x4' mosfet amp. They sound great off the deck already as those speakers as designed for low wattage( they actually sound really incredible for no amp and deck never gets hot at all),but I could throw a this cheap amp on them and get some more sound out of them. Opinion ?

No, it gets hot and from the first day it has been fake from MS. It caused the fuses to fail and burn. My car is from Iran.

Why did you do the test with only one rca plugged in. They are both supposed to be plugged in on these. So your test was wrong from the start. I have this amp. It pushes more than that. Maybe you should read instructions.

178w in a class d monoblock amp is kinda pathetic, you need at least a good solid 300w to push even a modest pair of subs, at 178w you'd need to run a pair of them each with it's own dvc 4 ohm sub to get any real bump, you'd get more bump out of bridging Walmart's $59 Dual XPR82D amp, it dyno'd 300w at 4 ohms bridged......
