Hope the finger is ok. There is nothing worse knowing your child needs you but you can’t be there to help. I live in Scotland and my daughter who is 14 was away to Barcelona on a school trip not that long ago and she phones me panicking. Her anxiety flared to an all time high and all I could do was to talk her down over the phone for 5 days. I hope she makes the team x

Oh gosh that cut looked really bad 😮 Hope it's okay now and that Blayke was able to make the volleyball team. Growing up is hard especially as a teenager these days but Adam's advice was very helpful - sometimes don't always happen the way you want it too but never be afraid to fail because it's how you deal with it that defines you. Loving the bond they have together and Blayke knows that Adam will always be there to support her no matter what ❤

I’m glad she’s reasoning through things. I remember when I tried out for twirling my 9th grade year and I was so nervous. I didn’t make it, but I realized I was ok. My friends and I were still friends, we still had classes together, and I had waaay more free time. Trust that your friends still love you even if you don’t make the team!

It makes Blake Can go out by herself To try be her friends On The Team’ Play’ have a lot of fun’ And Be a grown up Since Blake Is 14 years old. Blake might be old enough To go live on her own one day To move out A new House and get a Big girl Job. And make her own money one day As Blake gets older.

A panic attack isn’t the same as an anxiety attack. It’s a PANIC meaning there’s not a direct cause for the panic. Anxiety attack is probably more accurate

I had something like this happen to me, I tried out for volleyball in 7th grade because I wanted to try something knew… there were probably 30 girls who made the team and I wasn’t one of them, after that happened it really lowered my confidence but I went and to tryout for the 8th grade volleyball team and there were 16 girls who were at the tryouts and normally they only take 14 players, again I wasn’t one of the girls who made the team and I felt horrible and left out since then. But it really helped me grow as a person and realize that i can try new things

And that is why my confidence is so low to this day, and what is even worse they didn’t even manage to have a conversation with me on how I didn’t make the team…. They handed me a letter saying “sorry you didn’t make the girls volleyball team, we hope to see you again next year” and they wonder why they don’t have a lot of girls trying out for volleyball anymore. And I get that you can’t have 50 girls on a volleyball team… but 2 extra girls who probably won’t expect to get that much playing time, they just really want a spot on the team can’t make or break the team. I just thought i would share my story and experience for everyone

Honestly with all my respect to both parents at there jobs killing themselves to get their kids food and life but honestly your child’s life is much more important than anything in the world even if it takes hours to be there. You child is your child they need you even if you are far away even if you will travel from the end of the world to them. they want their mom or dad next to them to feel safe. Don't feel bad. They just don't want to play with you on their team bc you're so good. 😊 When I was a kid I did dance and didn't enjoy it I'm autistic so I cried in the corner. When I was a year or 2 older after I did dance I tried gymnastics and all I wanted to do was jump on the trampoline then my mom took me and my sister out bc we also didn't listen to instructions. So then we did basketball and did ok with that but didn't want to continue and then when I was like 9 or 10 I did volleyball I had a really strong far overhand serve but it was so strong I'd smack it out of the back of the court. I really enjoyed playing volleyball so when I got to middle school in the 6th grade I tried out and I didn't make the team. They had 3 teams well it was really 2 teams and the we don't care about team that didn't get to play. Their was the A team B and C team. I was on the C team the one that never got to play, so I quit and I was also trying band instruments at the end of my 5th grade year that's another story. I ended up getting the tuba I said heck no then flute and didn't enjoy them I got the clarinet. I love playing my clarinet I didn't do so hot reading sheet music or counting rhythm. I still struggle with that today. Then I got to high school joined my highschool marching band the first year I didn't make the team I made jv ( junior varsity) and then the same my 10th grade year. And my 11th grade year my twin sister made the team but also struggled to march and play her flute and do chorography so she just got to march with a saxophone as a filler spot and I stayed in jv. And I asked for a part my 1st 2 years of jv I did background props at competition and at football games I matched in a square on the side nobody watched us and we had a camera to record our shows and the jv team was barely on camera. It just made me feel bad all the time. Then in my Senior year I begged my band director to let us have a part in a show because it was my last year. I was the only person to start off in the jv and end up in the jv last year my senior year. So I begged him for a part in the show for my senior year and he gave us a 16 count black choreography part and we had different flags than the color guard. We got to run out behind the props with a flag and spin it around and swing the flag and spin the flag in a circle . It was the best feeling ever and that I had made it. That I had accomplished something. I'm now 23 my birthday was on Thursday. I graduated highschool at 18 turned 19 the next day my grad class is 2020. Fast-forward 2 years after highschool and I'm now in my home community band I've played clarinet for 13 years. So what I'm trying to say is don't give up. Good things will happen.😊
