Monty Oum (creator of RWBY) was a BlazBlue fan. Not to say Ragna’s weapon was the inspiration behind Crescent Rose, but Lambda, Nu and Mu’s swords are very much the same as Penny’s. Both may have taken influence from various Gundams though, as well as Auman Anubis from Zone of the Enders. All of this is to say; it’s a a damn shame Monty never got to see his characters appear in BB Tag. “Is that his Persona?” That’s his WIFE, and his finisher is different depending on who he uses it on, worth checking out. Character is Relius Clover.

I waited LITERAL YEARS for this, here I thought this day would never come. Edit: Some stuff you might want to know: - Relius doesn't summon a Jojo stand or Persona, that's just his wife (Ignis) which he turned into a robot. If you noticed, their son Carl has a similar robot next to him who is called Nirvana and is created by Ada (Relius' daughter and Carl's sister) being used as either a basis for recreating the Nox Nyctores or as a fuel for it (not too sharp on my Blazblue lore right now) - Bullet doesn't have a tail, that's just a belt that's dangling there. - Every single character has unique animations when they're targeted by Relius Clover and Amane Nishiki's Astral Heats. - The reason Ragna the Bloodedge and Naoto Kurogane have VERY similar looking Astral Heats is because Naoto is literally an alternate timeline version of Ragna (and also Ragna, Jin and Saya's uncle... Blazblue lore is complicated)

One cool thing about Relius(masked dude with puppet) and Amane(pink androgynous ribbon dude) is their astral differ on every character. Relius’s are essentially personalized imprisonment contraptions and Amane’s makes everyone young again. Or rather a younger version of the characters.

The blonde girl at the start with 2 finishers (Noel) has 2 because one is her one from the older installments, using her design from the first 2 games. You haven't seen all of the Astral Heats though, Relius (5:20) and Amane (5:53) have unique finishers for every character in the cast

Mentioned this before in the Patreon. Not many people gave this game a chance because it leaned too much into anime aesthetic and tropes that longtime anime fans are used to at the point it was created. Blazblue as a series has also been streamlined over the years, meaning it’s more accessible to newcomers and die-hard fighting game fans won’t have much to challenge themselves on. In comparison, Guilty Gear, has its own identity with the initial Rock-N-Roll theming the character designs have and having a more “deeper” mechanic according to some fighting game fans. For a long while now, since September 2022 in fact, Blazblue not have any new mainline games ever since the creator left the company. The recent games I can think are some sort of “Blazblue Cross Tag Battle” which was the last console game & 2 phone games. The series has not had any good publicity understandably. I’m just hoping ArcSys will give the series another chance one day down the road.

Fun fact, at 7:27 Celica is trying to heal the opponent because she's just the best. But she says, "Will make all your pain. fly away...forever!" and her robot thing, Minerva, took that to mean make this opponent fly away forever and just obliterates them. But Celica had her eyes closed so she's just confused where they went. For context on the series, it started in 2008 but really a lot of this stuff is more based on tropes way older than anything modern.

the reason some of the finishes look a bit lackluster was because they came from back in Calamity trigger which is like 15 years old. They got to go more wild as time went on (doesnt there isnt a few duds here and there).

note blazblue is confusing lore first second noel has 3 fineshers (technicly 2) one for the hat outfit that is just a punch them alot the second which is a cut sceen and the the hatless cutsceen final izanami is indeed crazy she was tortured as a child and drivin mad so. i love the blazblue games the lore is confusing but i think its fun and the music god some of daisukes best i love the guilty gear music but blazblue is soo good id sugest eather rebelion, lust sin and bullet dance, or the la virsions of them then listen to the second virsion of them for the difrences because the remixes match the chars personality and story at the time of the game story. also twitch every time i here ragna and jin compared to Dante and Vergile because yah i get it likeness but also they are both based on the story of kain and able,

If memory serves, i think you did the Astral Finishes for Cross Tag Battle (which doesn’t have all of them) before and then you did Ragna vs Sol Badguy, Anyway, I have always liked the Astral Finishes in the BlazBlue Series, so i really appreciate that you finally Reacted them, although i would argue that you didn’t pick the best Video that showcases them, Oh well, next I would like you to React to either All of the Trailers for Cross-Tag Battle or my Playlist for all of the BlazBlue Openings, i would be fine with either of them.

The dungeon finisher for Relilus Clover have a unique outcome for each character. The flower one turns each of the fighters into children.

Blazblue is amazing! I highly recommend the 2-part retrospective by Thorgi's Arcade! Heck, i recommend all of this work! There's shockingly few reactions of it and i know you two will fall in love with it! (I said one of his many Fighting Game Retrospectives, but i also request his Build the Roster and Make a Sequel series!)

I say this having in-depth knowledge about most fighting game franchises out there. I genuinely don't think a series goes quite as batshit insane off the walls crazy with it's lore to the level that Blazblue does. Guilty Gear hits the same ballpark, but some of the stuff from Blazblue is just mind boggling in a lot of different ways. With that said I'd absolutely encourage a deeper dive into it's lore at some point between now and the heat death of the universe, if for nothing else but to get a laugh out of just how unhinged the series can be at points. Central Fiction is one of the greatest fighting games of all time imo, and I'm hoping with all of my heart once Arcsys finishes with DLC for Guilty Gear Strive that they shift their attention back to this series. It's been almost a decade since Central Fiction launched and we're starved for some more insanity from the series.

Blazblue my beloved, Guilty Gear's slightly more fanservicy sister series A lot of these moves prolly come across better if you know these characters, cause ot doesnt have full 3D animations But if you look close you'll notice a buncha Guilty Gear parallels in this cast Some people fear that since arcsys got the full Guilty Gear rights back they wont focus on Blazblue anymore, but I won't lose hope ✌

Blazblue is an anime fighter. Created by the same company that makes the Guilty Gear games. Arc System Works under Bandai Namco. It’s basically a sister-series that didn’t get much popularity compared to GG. But it still has a dedicated fanbase that enjoys its gameplay and enjoys its convoluted lore.
