I think he's playing all Iron Maiden songs because he doesn't have his usual band. He probably found these guys from a Maiden cover band. Great that he has such a library of songs he can switch it up every night. Many bands cannot do that. His solo stuff is excellent and he is a true performer. Met him this past summer. He couldn't have been nicer. It was awesome.

ALGO COMO SER VOCAL DE UMA GRANDE BANDA COMO O MAIDEN,BLAZE É UM ÓTIMO VOCALISTA DE METAL, É CRITICADO ,NÃO PELA MÍDIA ESPECIALIZADA , MAS PELOS FÃS DO GÊNERO. NO INÍCIO ERA CRITICADO POR SER VOCALISTA DO MAIDEN, E HOJE ?

i like too much the blaze voice. he is a real great singer. but i´d like that he make the own song and not to live under the maiden´s moment. It´s the same with paul, they dont do too much music. just play the maiden´s songs. nevermind, great vocal. It´s awesome. sing´s just like into the 94 - 98
@bloodandsilver344010 жыл бұрын
Blaze has done tons of his own songs which are epic. He might play some maiden classics but his own material is strong and he plays that much more, most people are just more aware of the maiden songs so they are more popular
@Leira8310 жыл бұрын
Ricardo Sierra, you´re right if we talking about this concert, but normally in blaze´s setlist most of the songs are by his own, adding a few maiden songs. My point is that we shouldn´t compare blaze with di anno because: on the one hand, paul di anoo has lived all his live by his era in Maiden, but on the other hand, blaze did his own career and play his own songs in concerts with his band
@bloodandsilver344010 жыл бұрын
R LS the biggest problem is really that maiden fans keep comparing him to bruce and dont understand he is a very different singer to bruce. he sings songs from the x factor and virtual XI better than bruce and bruce sings the other maiden albums better. i'm glad he sings maiden songs he wrote because he's damn good at it but his own material he should focus on more which he does. the man who would not die is fucking epic but sign of the cross is one of the best maiden songs to date hands down. End of the day, Blaze made a huge contribution to maiden and metal in general.
@Leira8310 жыл бұрын
Blood and silver, I agree with you and I enjoy listening blaze singing maiden songs by the x factor and virtual xi. My point is that the best option for blaze concerts is that he do normally: his own set list with a few maiden covers(obviously only by the x factor and virtual XI
@bloodandsilver344010 жыл бұрын
R LS yeah thats true. most of the gigs he does is like that, like the gig in switzerland (the tour that would not die) this is usually the case but i think he does a lot of smaller gigs which are mainly maiden stuff, sadly probably because these are more well known. if blaze's solo music was more well known he'd be strong on his own, but he's always known for maiden so he probably feels that by doing maiden stuff it will appeal to more people. Its a shame that he's chained to Maiden in many ways because idiots constantly compare him to Bruce and usually hit him hard, ESPECIALLY if its a song that was originally sung by Bruce. Real metal fans who have actually heard his solo music and know how good he is have a lot more respect. His music is strong enough to stand on its own but he's so underground (apart from the Maiden years) that its overshadowed by those songs. Poor guy would probably get booed if he played his own stuff if the fans wanted Maiden only and didnt really come to hear him. Smile back at death and stare at the sun are so epic it feels unfair that he is not as popular as he should be. definently one of the most underrated musicians today

I know you are all praising this and all...but I can't help but feel sorry for Blaze and Ripper Owens. Here they fronted two of the greatest heavy metal acts. Playing in front of thousands and even 10s of thousands in one concert to reduced to playing in small 'pub' settings with second rate musicians (comparatively speaking) backing them up. I guess they had to ask themselves where they stood now that they were out and try to find their own way. Must be tough.
@philsswweightlossdiary29443 жыл бұрын
To be fair, he's on record as saying he prefers smaller, more intimate venues. I'm not sure who this backing band is but in the 21 years since his first solo album I wouldn't call any of the musicians he's worked with 'second rate'.

Don't get me wrong, I think Blaze has a great voice yet he keeps living off of a band's music that he's not even a part of anymore nor helped build. Same thing with Paul Di'Anno.
@ScoopedMids9 жыл бұрын
+Ulfhedn4r - Chiptunes well think about it. You could either book a show as just "Blaze Bayley" and get less people or book it as "Blaze Bayley (Formerly of Iron Maiden)" and get way more people and get more people. So of course that's how the show will be promoted.
@michaelpalmer53517 жыл бұрын
It's easy to say that sort of thing of someone like Blaze and yet "The Who" and other 'legendary acts' haven't done anything relevant in about 40 years and continue to live off of the same few albums over and over and over again. And I mean, what's their excuse?
