I once saw a video that compares like 6-8 portable solar products like these two. The Anker chewed them all up and spat them all out. Charged faster and better in full sunlight, partial sunlight, overcast, when hot, when cold, etc... it would have been nice to test and report which solar array does a better job actually charging a device under identical conditions. Apples to apples, which product puts the most juice in a battery in the same conditions. That’s far more important to me than the d rings it has or doesn’t have (although you did a great job of illustrating the value of the additional features).
@newageselfreliance5 жыл бұрын
I don't have a gage to compare exactly what is coming out of each panel. Both are really great options. I have been using the Foxelli the most just because its nice being able to find the sweet spot when charging with the sun.
@theartofflying35805 жыл бұрын
Wolf Pack Woodcraft I hear ya... but you may be misunderstanding what I mean... you don’t need anything special to run that test. Drain your phone down to 20% plug it into one panel under direct sunlight, measure how much it’s charged in 2 hours... drain it again, plug it into the second panel replicate the exact angle in direct sunlight... two hours later you know which array charges your battery faster. If your wife had the same phone you could do it simultaneously. Just an idea. Either way, thanks for a great video. I’m considering one for myself and there’s a new panel to consider it seems. 👌🏾👍🏽

I have the Anker 21w. It's actually only 10.5w but with two usb so they say it's 21w. I only use one usb port to get the maximum from the panel. On a sunny day I can charge a 28600mah rav power bank. On cloudy days I get about 5000mah out of it. Using it religiously you can keep the powerbanks charged saving the use of house plugs.

If you're worried about the pocket being upside down -- hang the entire panel array the other way, so the folded pocket now faces up. You can also attach velcro, buttons, or a zipper if you know how to stitch (hint, watch another channel's video). ;-)

My channel is about being comfortable. I try to show different options. When a product comes with a "to-do list" I don't feel it's worth getting. You would be better off waiting and finding something that fits your needs better. If the pouch being upside down is a problem there is no reason to get it in the first place. Foxelli is a better option that requires less time and works to achieve the same goal. Don't invest in a tool just to have it, invest in the right tool for the job.

For the price of the Anker, you can get a Big Blue 28 watt solar panel that has the zipper pouch and a meter like the Foxelli. $40 seems like a good deal for the Foxelli if you don't want to pay a little more for the 4th panel of the Big Blue, but the Anker seems overpriced. There are 2 different 28 watt Big Blues. One has the crappy pouch and no meter like the Anker. I don't know why anyone would pick that over the one with the meter. It does have a 3rd port, but you don't get enough energy from a 28 watt panel to bother charging 3 devices at once anyway.

So it still kinda works just drains fast. But to charge by sun never charged full. Ide have to plug it up and use that away. But I need one of these 60 ain't bad. I've been looking at so many. I'm tired of my phone going dead. Even if I don't have the bank to hold power this can keep it charging if I have to use. Thanks for this. I just wish there was a good cheaper bank if I can find one about 20 or so I could get 2 that way while ones charging can be useing one. Or maybe get 3 15 dollar ones from wish. But I deff need something. Just think this sun in Louisiana shoot I bet be like a rapid charger. Lol. Thanks bro great video great info always. I can't weight till you blow up and your subs go buck wild. People need to see your channel. Have a great week. God bless. PS when I buy one I'll use your link if it's one that help you make a few nickles or dime. Lol.

amzn.to/2JqGd7u Anker is the most trusted Power Bank on the market. This little one should be able to give your phone about one single charge and take about 5 hours to fill back up with the Foxelli Solar Panel. amzn.to/2NiKtbP This should be able to fill your phone about 4 times and take about 20 hours of sun to fully charge with the Foxelli Solar Charger. You could buy two small ones and have one charging from the sun and one charging your phone at all times if you really wanted to and it would cost the same as the one big one.

Great panel! I have started using a RavPower 27000mAh battery bank to run my CPAP for sleep apnea. This looks like it would be a great option for charging it. I would just have to do some research on how to link the devices. My power bank is charged with 110 ac and I'm not sure how to adapt that to a USB port. I'm sure that it can be done when bypassing the converter. It's just a matter of finding the cable. Thanks for sharing!

This isn't what you need but it might work to get you started. I didn't know these things existed until just a few months ago so I figured I would share it with you. amzn.to/2LonIlX

Thanks for the review Kory. I've been considering getting a solar panel and power bank mostly just to keep my phone charged while camping. It was very daunting with the myriad of choices out there and kind of confusing to me with all that mAh stuff and what is the right amount to get, and not having to spend a ton of money either, appreciate the info. So do you think the Anker power bank would be a good choice? are you still using the Anker power bank with the new solar panel?
@newageselfreliance5 жыл бұрын
If you are looking for something just for your phone a simple power bank will probably get the job done. I still use the same system. The Foxelli solar panel because I like the digital readout that shows the best place to put the charger. I also carry the Anker 20,100mAh power bank. When it comes to mAh its kinda like gas in your car. If you have a 20-gallon tank/ 20mAh battery and you have a barrel/ power bank that holds 200-gallons/ 200mAh you can fill your tank/ charge your battery 10 times with that one barrel/power bank. The trick is to look at your phone battery or any battery you have and look at how much mAh it has, then find a power bank that can fill the needs of those devices. Thank You so much for watching I really appreciate the support. Foxelli I use - amzn.to/2T5i3sd Anker Power Bank - amzn.to/2NgCkFO

@@newageselfreliance Thanks Kory, appreciate it. Cleared up the mud for me. I think I would only use the power for my phone and Ipod mostly.

@@jeffrichards5106 I would look into getting something small and really lightweight. This is 5000 mAh which is about the size of a new cell phone battery. It can get you one full charge and take up basically no room your setup. amzn.to/2XeZgd9

I can see that there is a 10 watt and a 21 watt model available. Which one would u recommend?
@newageselfreliance4 жыл бұрын
The 21W is gonna charge faster than the 10W so depending on how much energy you use the small one might be a better option. My friend Will made a video showing the differences between the two that might help you out - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zl63mWqOrNqois0

Is it available to get a solar panel that can store energy so that I can use it over night
@newageselfreliance5 жыл бұрын
They do make them ( amzn.to/2yNfY8H ) The problem is the solar charging on most of these takes SO LONG that it really doesn't help much. Basically, you will charge the battery bank and then the solar is just there to keep it topped off when not in use. What I do is use the Foxelli Solar Panel ( amzn.to/2YVPtIz ) and use it to charge my Anker Power Bank ( amzn.to/2KAo6yQ ) That way I have MUCH more solar power and can still use the Anker at night or cloudy days.

those2 panels is at least 15 watts if that in a perfect day and no way 21 watts. do your homework before you claim something, both of those panels puts out 1.5 amps max of prefect day and if you have phone say iPhone with 3mah battery you solar panel will charge you phone completely in 3+ hour and if you have 10,000 mah battery bank it will take 10+hour to charge it full

Which one of these panels do you prefer?
