Nice job. I've been repairing all my torches for about 5 years and have an "old torch graveyard" & it has about 80 scrap torches people have given me for parts. Keep up the good work

Thank you for this !! Just repaired one thanks to you. 4 more to go. Glad I kept them and didn't just toss them in the trash.

Amazing! I didn't want to throw away one of my favorite torches (best design, most rugged, easiest to use, best value) after the piezo electric igniter switch started failing, and so I searched a bit for a repair guide for my O'Reilly Auto Parts PTW2002 butane torch. I couldn't find any diagrams or how-to's on tearing them down and repairing them correctly, until I found these two videos! It's the same EXACT design of the Blazer ES-1000, and 9 years later, is probably far cheaper (< $20) than what the OP paid for his Blazer back then. Thank you, brother, for posting these videos. I'll definitely be able to keep my torch working far into the foreseeable future now, instead of it being cursed and cast into the great torch graveyard in the sky (aka dumpster)...

Hey man I really got to thank you for researching and posting this. I repaired my broken igniter in my Blazer using the exact parts and method you described and its fully functional now!

I got the Scripto piezo lighters at Walmart.One thing to consider (forgot to mention in the video) is that the wire on the scripto is aluminum...very difficult to solder unless you have the right type of flux.I do a lot of different types of brazing and soldering in my shop so I have a variety of flux but make sure you get some flux designed for soft soldering aluminum !

Thank you for this video. This is exactly the information I have been looking for. Your instructions are clear and concise and the video is well focused. Great work.

Can you show us how to solder the two wires together and then add the tubing? We have 5 blazers that need new ignitors.

What is the T handle tool called? I can't get the front removed from my Blazer to replace it. Tried 2 small flatheads but still can't get that to loosen any. I need one of those T handle tools!

Hey I have a torch lighter just like this and I may have messed it up really bad by taking it apart and obviously not the right way but regaurdless it was broken before I tryed to fix it. It was not going to complete sharp pointy torch flame like it should even if I had put the sliding thing on the top all the way to torch flame it would be like a solid blue bic flame instead of the torch. Mine Is like yours but idk if yours has the regular lighter option along with the torch option on the top but that's what mine does . But it was not completely going to torch flame like it should have would you know why I can try to find it snd take a picture of it to show you

Vector butane has the adapters!!!!
@GobelPaul4 жыл бұрын
When you took it apart, did you take out the part the slide adjust sits on top of as was well? Basically, all that slide does is cover a hole in the metal tube it sits on to restrict the amount of air that gets mixed with butane. When the hole is completely covered, there's no air so you're just burning butane and that gives the normal flame. When the hole is open, then you're burning a mix of butane and air which makes the jet flame. So if you're not able to get the full jet flame, you're not getting enough air in the mix.

hey I've Ben asking alot of people this question see a few of my torches I've tried to fix but every time I light them the whole torch catches on fire is there any thing I can do to fix the problem ? is it the tips mayby ?
@frankierodriguez51628 жыл бұрын
There are a few O rings that cause that problem.One is at the back of the torch where the air adjustment knob is.You will Find a small Allen screw. Tighten that screw and see if it helps . If not ,Back the screw out and pull out the valve.There will be an o ring there, replace if damaged. The other one is much more difficult to replace. You will have to pull apart the entire torch head assembly. Hunter the small needle valve it feeds the fuel there is an O ring between that and the tank . Unscrew the entire needle valve and replace the o ring between the fuel tank and that needle valve. It's a pretty hard o ring to find because it's microscopic and also it's flat. I hope this helps

+Frankie Rodriguez think u actually I've done that before not for this reason though but because I found a good torch that was missing those peaces .

FishNHunt 2 I literally use mine for several hours everyday 5 days a week in a shop environment for soldering and reheating adhesives.Ive been using this same model for 15 years and have had to buy a new one maybe 5 times. I think you just have bad luck

@@beatlebacker1996 He doesn’t have the experience. New people assume it broke and get a new one. 90% of torches are returned and work fine. It’s ridiculous. Vintage lighters came with info.
