For the first half of 2022, there were very few entirely new lighter designs that shipped to stores. So we began to think about other lighter and figured why not have Patrick Lagreid-our lighter reviewer-review the lighter that Charlie Minato uses on a daily basis. The Blazer PB207 ($59.99) is a very expensive plastic, single-flame torch lighter, but it's one with a very loyal fanbase.

I bought one of the industrial ones back in '96 and it lasted me until '09, so it was money well spent. A guy I worked with in the late '90s would make fun of me for paying 60 bucks for lighter, and when he found a knockoff for 5 bucks at a gas station, I thought he was never going to shut-up about it. When the thing started melting in his hand a few days later, while lighting a cigarette, I just shook my head, and told him you get what you pay for. He never made fun of my $60 lighter again.

what happened to it? hope you did not throw it away, it might be possible to fix and may have been an easy problem

I bought some pocket torches PB-207 in 1985. One of them is still working. So it's a very durable, reliable product.

In germany we have a similar lighter, its called Rothenberger Industrial pocket torch. Its very similar to this lighter, but it comes with a much bigger tank and the flame comes out at an angle (which I really like cause it gives you more control when lighting). Been using mine since years and it never let me down.

I have tons of fancy lighters and love em all because I love gear. This is hands down my favorite though. Can ALWAYS depend on it. If I am traveling or ever going somewhere that I know will need lots of lights, don't want to worry about running out of fuel, this is what I take with me without even thinking about it. It has the biggest tank, is efficient, and just dang works every single time. If there is one cigar lighter to have, and only one, this is the one. Funny story behind why I bought it in the first place... Growing up, my dad had a large teak dresser with knives, lighters and stuff that I was generally never allowed to touch. Occasionally, I would sneak into his room and play with them because I always loved gadgets. He had a handful of lighters in there and I would always try to light them. Most of them rarely worked, and over the years, they all stopped working, except this one. So probably 4 or 5 years ago, when I got into cigars, I looked for it online and had to order it. Sure enough, it is my favorite cigar lighter to date.

I bought the now called “industrial” one in 1998. It finally gave out in 2020. Great lighter.

Have a Eagle torch and recently surprised to have a problem filling it up some may say needed to bleed it out but never had this problem before where didn't want to fill only after messing with for a while it finally filled , at least had the visible gas tank so knew what was going on

I was given one by my cousin when i was visiting him in california back in 2000, I think it may have been somewhat used but it looks similar to yours has the same kind of metal top design but no chain with flicking cap cover and i could not find the same design online anywhere yours is the closest looking one, i loved the thing and had fun with it as i could adjust the flame to like 3 inches high but man i had no idea they are so expensive and idk if the price has been jacked up or if that's what my cousin paid for mine back then but its very simple on the inside and i mean mostly plastic parts makes no sense they sell for 70 bucks or more , unfortunately the flame was starting to go unstable and no longer sharp and the spark thing was no longer sparking properly i think the timing with the gas flow was off so it was sparking before the gas was flowing, i tried fixing it with no luck and left it sitting in my drawer all these years till i found it now and got the gas flow going but the piezo electric needs to be either fixed or replaced as its sparking along the wire in different places but also cant seem to make it spark on the nozzle and i don't understand how it did that before since there is no ground return wire to the bottom of the piezo metal cylinder looking thing but im keeping it to see if i can get it fixed somehow its worth too much to let go and a worthy jet torch design you cant find anymore even though my neighbor gifted me one she had from a trip, not as strong as the asg but still a good jet torch, i love these lighters with the unique blue jet flame since i'm also a welder i call them "welder's lighter" lol

you are not limited to the lever flame adjustment, you can further adjust the flame lower or higher from the refill valve on the bottom using a flat head screwdriver

be nice if they made the chain removable by unscrewing it where it attaches to the body that would be a neat option

can you further adjust flame using the fill valve screw? i had an asg pocket torch that looks almost similar to this design with the same yellow body and clear bottom and was only adjustable through the fill valve just like the one on yours with the knurled brass fill valve where you can use a flat head screw for adjustment although not sure it was intended to be used like that perhaps it was factory preset because it did not have a flame adjustment lever like yours but did have the locking latch, id like to make my flame quite high almost 3 inches like my asg would do

Man, they should add the stand to all models. It is annoying to have it sit on the side on my shelf.

Blazer does have nice products but there's no way that those small torches call for such a high price. For $50-$60 they should have a lifetime warranty like Xikar lighters. I remember seeing many variants of the little blazer over the years in many different cigar, tobacco and discount cigarette shops and they were a fraction of the cost.

yeah for a simple mostly plastic parts lighter the price makes no sense at all, like you said ive seen cheaper ones in cigar or convenience stores and the first one i ever got was in 2000 a used asg pocket torch lighter gifted to me by a cousin and i seriously doubt he paid anywhere near this much for it, still have it but its no longer working properly but im trying to get it fixed or ill have someone fix it as its worth it and i can no longer find this good model
