In this video I am going to be unboxing and reviewing the 4K picture of the latest 4K Blu-ray Collector's Edition of Blazing Saddles. I will also be showing 4K comparisons against the previous Blu-ray.

Blazing saddles is one of my favorite Mel Brooks, movies. I have all of his movies on Blu-ray, but that one I probably watched the most next to young Frankenstein. And history of the world part one. We don’t talk about history of the world part 2 that was just an abomination. My favorite scene in blazing saddles the campfire Bean scene. 😂 we usually don’t get sets like this in the states if we do it’s a steel book only. But that is a fantastic set. Hopefully they’ll release all of his movies like that. He deserves it Mel Brooks is a genius. Everyone forgets that Richard Pryor who wrote that movie and this movie would never be made today 😂

I am embarrassed to say this but I have not seen young Frankenstein. Once again one of those movies that has fallen through the cracks of time and I never got around to watching it. I've heard so many great things about it and I was very close to picking up that Blu-ray Steelbook that came out a while back. I might try and Hunt it down again. I was under the impression this edition was getting a release over in the States. Maybe I missed heard it. Fingers crossed it does. But thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. I love this movie. It's so funny. I sure wish the steelbook was just the original poster art. I had to go with the regular 4K because IMO the steelbook is horrible. At least y'all got the nice boxed version to hide it 😆 Thanks for the review. I'm really excited for it. Next week is going to be awesome. Got Godzilla Minus One, Terminator, North by Northwest and Blazing Saddles on the way as well as two early Black Friday deals I got Thanksgiving Steelbook and The Last Dragon steelbook. 😁

Yeah like I said in the video Joe I was somewhat underwhelmed by the Steelbook. I completely understand why you would stick to the standard release. I think you're going to be impressed when you check it out though. I've already got my north by northwest release and that's going to be my next video. I've also got Terminator coming. First ever rated R movie that I was allowed to watch as a youngster. My dad and I laughed ourselves silly watching this. It is top 5 all time IMO comedy. This is how you do a socially conscious movie where you are not pandering or demonizing but showing how ignorant ignorance is and how you overcome it and BUILD a community not separate or alienating portions of it.

Of all the movies to watch as your first R rated movie. I can imagine what that experience must have been like. I went through something similar myself. Its one of those movies that I find when you feel a little bit down this will guarantee to cheer you up. It's great to see it get the treatments that it received with this release in terms of packaging and the transfer itself. Literally breeds new life into the movie. As soon as I got home I watched the entire movie and put the review out as quickly as I could. It actually makes doing videos like this a lot easier when the movie is fresh in your head. I was just as surprised as you when this got announced Keith. Brilliant film but I agree that the ending lets it down a bit. It's a great set Keith but there's just too much coming out at the minute. I will wait until after Christmas and hopefully get it in the 2 for 30 deals. Hey Gary. You are absolutely correct there is so much coming out at the moment. I actually bought 3 collectors Editions alone today. This one North by Northwest and Oppenheimer. North will be my next video and looking forward to showing that release off. It's the best of the three and rightfully so. I've also got the Terminator pre-ordered. Shock horror Keith, I have never seen this film. So glad the woke brigade have not got their manky mitts on this one and because of that I am going to get it. I am loving the artwork on this edition it really stands out. It's quite shocking that Cleavon Little was only 53 when he passed, such a shame. So glad they have done the 4K justice.

To censor Blazing Saddles is to thoroughly miss the point of the movie: That being to destroy the concept of a "wholesome west" and show you that such an idea is utterly farcical. So of course, the far-left (aka. "woke brigade" as you calk them) rightfully stays away. And yes, Blazing Saddles is a timeless masterpiece.

I couldn't agree more with you. Could you imagine watching a censored version of this movie. Like you said it would completely miss the point. That's the great thing about getting a release like this because I think it's the definitive version to own and I never have to worry about that again

too much to unpack here, BUT the film takes the piss out of every race. The whites look silly with their slurs and vice versa! i saw this movie and I loved the ending, because it was so unexpected. Its reminds me of the ending of Monty Python snd the Holy Grail! great video as always, not picked this up, but would like a 4k steelbook. Take care buddy

Hey Mark. I think the movie has got a bit of everything. My attitude towards it has never changed. It cracks me up every single time I watch it. Like I said in the video the only one downside for me was the ending. I could never get on board with it. If it hasn't happened now it's never going to. But thank you for taking the time to stop by. @millerman9991 it's a really nice steel I wasn't a fan looking at photos online but very happy to have it. The menu on the disc is the same artwork so it's a great release.
