Derek Mears makes a very good Jason Voorhees. But, like you, I have an attachment to the original films. Meeting CJ Graham and Kane Hodder 5 years ago was a pleasure. Oh my god! How creepy is Terry O' Quinn in The Stepfather?! I have They Live on Blu Ray. I was fortunate enough to meet Roddy Piper 10 years ago and he signed my copy. When I saw the announcement for the Friday the 13th remake (or whatever it's supposed to be), I immediately pre-ordered it. It's a fantastic release for a great movie. I really enjoyed it. They Live... Well, what can we say about it that hasn't already been said before? I absolutely love this movie, and it's one of my favourite John Carpenter movies.

It's amazing to think that my partner Ellen hated they live when she first seen it. Now it's probably her favourite John Carpenter movie. As for Friday the 13th like I said I really enjoyed it even though it will never be one of my favourites. Arrow Video did a wonderful job on that release. It’s hard to imagine anyone being as good as Betsy Palmer as Mrs. Voorhees in the original FRIDAY THE 13th. The original art on so many Scream Factory steelbooks is awesome. They hire excellent artists and it’s worth even having the Blus if they are the only versions with the Steelbook packaging and art. Another nice haul video, Keith! 🍟

I am a big fan of the Steelbook releases from scream factory but I have to admit I haven't been too impressed with their recent ones. Escape from New York in particular I was very disappointed with. Me & my girlfriend were originally going to go see Longlegs in IMAX but just missed our chance so we opted to watch Deadpool & Wolverine in IMAX and see Longlegs in our local regular cinema a week later. And thank god we did it that way around! Because we loved DP&W but had a miserable experience watching Longlegs. That movie is definitely a one and done watch for us.

Like I said in the video Kevin the only good thing I can say right now when it comes to LongLegs is the fact that I'm willing to watch it again. It was so underwhelming. You definitely made the right choice in the end even though I have to admit I still haven't seen Deadpool and Wolverine as of yet. As a matter of fact I still haven't even picked up the 4K release of it. I will definitely get around to it very soon. Stepfather is very underrated and I had a wonderful time watching it. I wouldn't mind checking out it's sequels. I've that same Army Of Darkness steelbook in the States, and I love the look of it. I have to agree, Shout need to stop putting one version of films on 4K and the rest on blu ray. But I love the film, so picking it up was a no brainer. That Shout steelbook of They Live looks bloody lush! I can't tell you how much I love that movie, especially the fight in the alleyway. The best part of the film for me. I've not watched all of the Friday remake, but I loved what I've seen so far. It does look amazing, and The Stepfather is another I need to pick up. Great video, Keith, and some great pick ups.

John Wick all-nighter at BFI IMAX in London was absolutely amazing. So glad I went. The fourth movie in IMAX with Laser on the UK’s biggest screen was something to behold. Ended at 07:45! 😎

I never actually seen any of the John Wick movies in the cinema but if my 4K releases are anything to go by I'm sure it's an experience. All of them look and sound amazing.

@ - I watched Chapters 2 to 4 at the cinema but none on such a big screen or in IMAX. The first two movies on Saturday were in 2K, third one was 4K and fourth movie was IMAX with Laser. It definitely increased my rating for the fourth movie after seeing it how it was meant to be seen. I watched a few interviews with the Director and Keanu Reeves (separate videos) where they were really praising what watching Chapter 4 in IMAX was like and that they filmed every shot with IMAX in mind. Sometimes you hear marketing like that and the movie is rubbish and the IMAX experience hardly changes that but I can 100% say that the IMAX of Chapter 4 really took it up a few levels imo. If I had watched it in IMAX when it was originally released I would definitely have watched it at least one or two more times in IMAX.

I have to admit out of the four movies the fourth one was my least favourite. Maybe it got me on a bad night or it could be the series was getting a bit repetitive for me I honestly don't know. But I really do want to revisit it and see how I feel on that second viewing. Believe it or not but the first movie is still my favourite of the four.

Great vid Keith. I recently picked up some steelbooks myself. Nightmare on elm street, twister and transformers the movie. I definitely need to add they live and army of darkness my collection as they look stunning. I couldn't agree with you more on longlegs, I was bitterly disappointed with it. Don't think I can ever bring myself to watch it again.

Hey Keith, some very interesting pick ups. Haven’t seen any of them myself either. I did pick up some things over the black Friday sales did pick up the Great escape imported it can’t wait to hear your review. also picked up Columbia classics volume 4 Boxset finally came down to a pretty great price six movies, 80 bucks and that nice box and book. that’s the one with sleepless in Seattle and John carpenters Starman watched Starman looked and sounded incredible also, they included the TV series of Starman didn’t even know there was one starring Robert hayes, the main guy from airplane. they did something very interesting there’s two seasons of Starman 12 episodes per season it’s Blu-ray quality but they put them on 4K discs so one complete season 12, 50 minute episodes fit on a single 4K disc pretty cool hope all is well and you’re getting into the Christmas spirit have a jolly one👍

Hey John. I completely forgot about Starman coming out on 4k. I am not kidding you John that movie destroys me at the end of it. I don't know what it is but it always leaves me very upset. A large part of it is to do with that beautiful music playing through it. Great to hear that the movie looks good on 4K as well. As for the TV series yes I was very surprised to hear about that myself. For that reason alone I think I would be interested in picking up that Columbia Classics edition. I have the Evil Dead Groovy Collection with the first two movies in 4K & Bluray + all of the tv series on bluray. To complete my original Evil Dead Collection, I also bought the Army of Darkness 4K steelbook. Awesome set and steelbook. Army of Darkness is actually my favorite of the three original movies.

Some lovely pick ups there Keith! Really impressed with the Army of Darkness Steelbook! Amazon start their Black Friday offers on Nov 21 so I'm planning on spending a few quid and breaking my Scream Factory duck! I'm going to pop on to the USA site and order from there. I'm getting them sent to a friends house in the States and his brother will bring them back for me after Christmas as he'll be over there for Christmas so no import duty! The American Psycho Blood Pack is a strong possibility I think and The Fog and various Halloween definitely on the cards. Twisters I saw in the cinema and found it very enjoyable! By the way I recently watched a feature length doc on Hammer recently. John Carpenter was in it and turns out he's a massive Hammer fan. He actually wanted Christopher Lee for Halloween but couldn't get him and went for Donald Pleasance instead! I've a plan brewing to get you into Hammer and sort out that blind spot you have! It's great to have that option when it comes to buying releases from America. You will be spoiled for Choice my friend. Yeah I remember hearing about Christopher Lee being attached to Halloween. I have to give him credit because he thought the movie was beneath him and that's why he turned it down. But like the great man that he is he apologised and he told Carpenter how much he regreted turning down the role. To be honest Alan it worked out in the end because I could not envision anyone else playing that role other than Donald Pleasence.

Hi Keith, great video as always. Those Army of Darkness and They Live steelbooks are simply beautiful. Those two and Scream Factory's The Fog are probably the nicest steelbooks any horror Fan could ask for. Unfortunately, Scream didn't match that with their new Escape from New York steelbook. It stands out like a rotten tooth with its cheap grafitti look. Yeah, The Stepfather is a nice, underrated thriller. Joseph Ruben was a very promising director in the late 80s and early 90s. He also directed Dreamscape and the Macauley Culkin thriller The Good Son (another great thriller which went under the radar) and even had a shot at an A-list thriller with Sleeping with the Enemy starring Julia Roberts. I actually liked Longlegs but I wouldn't say it's a great movie and it's definitely NOT another Silence of the Lambs, not even close. I think you'll enjoy Twisters for what it is. No, it's not as good or as exciting as the original. I was even a little surprised that the special effects weren't any better than in the original which just shows how great and advanced Twister was in 1996. The only reference to the original is the use of an advanced Dorothy, but they don't mention anything about who originally created it which is a shame and kind of a missed opportunity to connect Twisters to the original film. However, it's still a very good disaster movie and the Atmos will rock your home theater, that's for sure.

To be honest Ash I have absolutely no intentions of picking up that Steelbook of escape from New York. I found a lot of their recent Steelbooks to be somewhat underwhelming. When it comes to LongLegs the only positive thing I can say about it right now at this moment is the fact that I'm willing to watch it again. The amount of times that I've seen movies that I did not like and then revisit them and change my views on them drastically is quite staggering at times. As for twisters I never thought in a million years that it was ever going to be as good as the original. Not surprised to hear that the visuals are not as good either. I think the original is Flawless and the bar was set too high. But I am looking forward to checking it out. I've had those They Live and Army of Darkness Steelbooks for a while and they really are nice. Some of the best in my collection. Twisters is a good time too and a nice looking Steelbook, but I would say that I prefer the original film just a bit more.

I honestly do not know why it took me so long to finally get around to picking up those steelbooks. Better late than never I suppose. Looking forward to twisters. The only good thing I can say about longlegs at this point is the fact that I'm willing to watch it again. Great to hear that you have the Friday the 13th release coming your way. When I first played Silent Hill I had it set on hard and I have to admit when I got to Eddie's sequence I had to change it to normal. I must have died at least 100 times in that first playthrough. My second playthrough was even better believe it or not. I couldn't believe some of the things I missed

Hey Keith, I thought the 4K transfer on Friday the 13th was excellent and the films not bad either. I have the StepFather 1 & 2 but not in 4K and I have never seen either of them. The artwork on, They Live, is bloody beautiful, I've never seen that before and what can you say about the film other than it's a masterpiece. I'm going to shock you now Keith because other than the original Evil Dead, I am not a massive fan of the rest of them, I never have been, they are good but not something I watch on a regular basis, in fact I have only ever seen 2 & 3 once when they were first released. The remake was good but that last one they made didn't even feel like an Evil Dead movie. The artwork on Army of Darkness is really nice though. Long Legs I still need to watch but have no plans any time soon because like you said it does look really boring. I had fun with Twisters but take it from me, Keith it's not a patch on the original and the 4K is fantastic. I'm pretty sure you will enjoy the movie regardless.

To be honest Gary I am not surprised to hear that you are not the biggest fan when it comes to the Evil Dead series. It's definitely not for everybody. It's a series that seems to struggle to find its own identity but there's something about it that I do love. I remember you telling me about the Friday the 13th 4K transfer and wow you were absolutely spot on. I couldn't believe how good it actually looked. As for twister I am expecting an entertaining movie but I think that's about it. I'm not going to lie when my family told me that it was as good as the original I literally rolled my eyes. I can never envision that. But I am looking forward to it. A huge thank you once again Gary for taking the time to stop by and share your thoughts on the video

Yeah I got the email from turbine last week. I actually passed on it because the chainsaw itself can be got from trick or treat Studios and to be honest it looked a bit cheap

I preordered the deadpool/wolverine steelbook on amazon. Account said last night it would be delivered today. No delivery. Got an email saying they fkng CANCELLED it due to stock. I ordered it when it went live. Im fkng LIVID!! Ebay swamped with them by scalpers asking double. Im so p*ssed at amazon. Has this happened to anyone having their order taken then cancelled on the day?? It means you CANNOT depend on their preorder system as it doesnt guarantee you sh*t!!

Unfortunately it seems to be becoming a common tale with Amazon. I received four messages from friends of mine yesterday saying that their Terminator steelbooks had been cancelled from Amazon. It's shocking because you should never have to worry about your pre-orders not being honoured. Did you check out Amazon Italy for those Steelbooks. I know they are still in Stock on their website.
