I love Gunter, but honestly, of all the routes, Revelations needs the most work full stop. It's not _bad_ compared to Conquest and Birthright (both of which I adored), but it has a lot of design flaws in it's writing and gameplay structure both, so any really meaty change would basically demand something close to a total overhaul.

When Seth was added to heroes I spent a week uninstalling the game and reinstalling (so that I could get those free orbs) in order to get him! I gave up over 20 lvl30+ heroes so that I could have my favorite unit in all the fire emblem games! When I finally got him I was appalled by how generic they made him.

I think the vendetta against cavalry is because of how monstrous Horse Emblem can be. The Emblem buffs and their massive range makes them a nightmare to deal with.

PumpJack McGee sure but still even if they continued to add more powerful cavalry units it wouldn't be as much of a problem as before because of all of the terrain that stops them, armor units with armor march have almost more mobility then cavalry in arena.

Yeah, Seth got hit hard in Heroes, he's just bleh now, as are Titania and Mathilda. Titania especially got screwed hard with her new weapon, a 16 mt Emerald Axe is just disgusting, she deserved so much better I'm surprised Jaffar wasn't even an honorable mention though. I mean, I wouldn't exactly call him bad in Heroes, he has massive AOE damage potential and is a great mage fighter on player phase thanks to his weapon's refine, but he pales in comparison to his Blazing Sword counterpart, and even with comparisons aside he's still nothing particularly amazing in Heroes, requiring heavy team support to deal considerable damage and not die in one round of combat. But its not too big a deal really

Seliph was one of my earlier summoned sword units and my first unit from Genealogy. Despite his atrocious speed, I still use him when I need a non-armor tank. I was so happy when I finally summoned Sigurd. His father is a pretty good unit and is quickly becoming one of my favorite sword units, behind Ike.

Once again you made a fantastic list Blazing Knight, it may not be much but I offer a sincere congratulations on your efforts in making the video. From looking at the video paladins may have received the short end of the stick but because of how flexible FE: Heroes is, any unit can fit a players personal preference with enough investment. I would also like to mention that a short while ago I got (regular) Leo, which made me happy but upon looking at his stats and IV’s my joy suddenly turned to regret. His IV’s were +Defense and -Attack, I am dead serious. Leo, I love you and the entire Nohrian Royal Family but good grief did you get shafted in the worst way possible.

No mention of Lloyd or Ursula... Yeah heroes turned what was once a very threatening non-playable boss into a literal joke. Lloyd's stats are too poorly distributed and his refined weapon hardly gives him any justice. Ursula is also outclassed by other blue mage cavs, especially with a middling 29 atk and 32 spd. It's kinda worse when you see bosses get really bad in heroes because you already know how much torment they gave you.

Yeah, this had to happen. I was prepared. But still, you have to be honest here and confess they are not anywhere near the prime they were in the original. I still like the list anyway, but this also goes for the chance to make good units out of the "bad" ones. 10. Gunter: Never used him unless its quests. He's only meant for foddering to cavalry for that Hone Cavalry I'm afraid. Too many units outmatch him. 9. Henry: The interesting thing is that Henry is actually meant to be superior to Tharja as a dark mage. Henry can straight up deflect Tharja's curses if he so wanted to. Tharja was cursed and couldn't do anything about it, but Henry just said words, and bam, Tharja was fixed, showing how superior he is to her. Interestingly enough, Henry somehow does get hexed more and can't do anything about it if he fathers Noire, as the supports are generically showing that Henry takes the curses for Noire, which makes no sense. 8. Saber: Yeah, Saber is only bulky, but never felt like a danger. There's a reason why being balanced is generally a bad thing in Heroes. You work better when you are more specialized. 7. Palla: Ah, one of the best units and Pegasus Knights, now only mostly useful for giving her Moonbow to someone else, though even that I feel isn't as much anymore since Glimmer is the more loved one now. Also, I haven't used Est to her full potential yet. Never felt a need, but I might need to check. 6. Leo: I never got Leo in the game, but I hear that he's pretty terrible, even with the new refine. And sadly, his summer version is not any better, argued to be just as bad. 5. Mathilda: Ugh, I was so sad there too. She was so strong in Echoes, but now she's just meh at best. So many other units can take her place without worry. I think the reason she weakened is that after marrying Clive and thus retiring to be a wife, she neglected her training. 4: Sully: Don't use her, but she was definitely annoying when I had to fight her for my sword units. But all I need her on my team is to give that Draw Back. Sorry, Sully. 3. Robin: UUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!! It was terrible. However, my friend and I went all out to make her a +10. And he's actually useful now and helps a LOT. The problem with Robin here is that he's balanced. He's too balanced, and thus he lacks the ability to excel at anything. Had he excelled more in attack or such, he could have been a user of Blarblade user. But Robin is very useful for me because I got him to +10. It was... tough, but worth it in my opinion. 2. Titania: Don't use her, but she seems like she's gonna do well when I face her, but she does get easy to handle when I use a red unit. Won't mention the dishonorable mentions, but they work. 1. Seth: Knew it. From how much praise he gets for Sacred Stones, I knew that for how he was terrible in Heroes and thus had to be in the #1 worst transition.

Seth is very good in heroes. Is his base kit that sucks Being balanced is very good with the refinery tho, unless you are extremely average like Jakob (But that's more of a BST problem). Balanced mages are still great in heroes, since the Owl is better than Blade now (extra stats) Also, Leo now is crazy good as a defensive mage

As someone that kept trying to make Saber fit, never a statement has been truer! Saber always felt awkward to use thanks to his balanced stats in a specialist game. I wanted a use for him so he didnt just feel like a waste from Celica. (Luckily I did get her, but the best version so far was a +Def version of her) But as soon as Golden Dagger came out, hohoho.. lots of fun can be had. Especially with things like special spirial for constant three charge abilities. Me, personally? I went along with his base kit direction. Aegis and Shield Pulse so Aegis can always be ready at the start of a match and warding breath as his A skill, so that Aegis never has to go onto a cooldown. (Unless they're a staff unit that says no to counter attacks or those that add on to the cooldown, but let's not worry about that.)

Rytzler Guy For me I'd have to say Jaffar due to his insane bases not really transferring to heroes, Jakob who's stat line is nothing special in heroes (he's even outclassed by Felicia for damage nowadays and for an honourable mention Odin because while he's not too good in Fates, they did the guy dirty in Heroes.

Jaffar's Refine is super strong though and can't really be compared. Especially with builds he's a monster. Have you seen the guy in Conquest he decimates on attack and defense because AOE + Can't be counter attacked by mages.

Both this video and the last one are quite fun examinations of the characters' performance in multiple incarnations, though I do feel that it's a bit sad to leave out the possibility of skill inheritance, since for some units, it can really help out a lot. Given just how bad some base kits are and how easy skill inheritance can be, at least for budget options, I think I definitely would have preferred to see that taken into account.

As much as I like how this video addresses how units have fallen down by their glory days in their vanilla hero sets without skill inheritance, I feel like skill inheritance is SUCH a big part of Heroes now that it almost can't be ignored even here. Just like how you can somewhat customize units in FE games to your liking, inheritance is the same way, allowing many units like Saber, Robin, Titania, or Palla to actually become very potent. Plus units like Henry or Robin do have alts that make them extremely strong. So I just feel like eh....it's not how I would justify some of these guys But of course, you did say that this is purely nonskill-inheritance, and that point of view portrays this list very well for these characters (poor Seth), but I just think alot of them are redeemed nowadays with skill inheritance, seals, etc. so it isn't that much of a thing to worry about. Great video anyways! :D

I wish Robin got a Sword variant (Maybe grandmaster rep?) to show that he isnt just some magic user only, and maybe give him a new weapon on actually both robins, Maybe some sorta tome related to the opposite sex's. Also, Im glad M!Corrin isnt here. I say people give him too much crap for being "too balanced" in his stats. He actually is my #1 Unit, and is actually my trump card to most cases, Discluding Weapon Triangle since literally almost every unit is affected by it (Scrape a few like Ayra... she needs fixed.) It helps that he also got a buff to his weapon, and now he can even be an amazing supporter, But honestly i wish his signature skill gave the stats to him instead.

I'd like to propose the hypothesis that most Cavalry units that are bad were added after Reinhardt (Dire Thunder version). This effect also somewhat counts to cavalry added after Brave Lyn and Sigurd, but some are still good after them.

I actually like Palla in feh and i think she is overlooked and i understand why - Caeda and Elincia are god damn great. But i still like her just as much and imo she is one of the best units to start with - moonbow, ruby sword, goad fliers and wings of mercy - this is one of the best 4* skill sets and all she needs to be fully build is fury and draw back. and unlike caeda she can be build in a many different ways. Safeguard, wo dao, slaying edge, and even firesweep are all options for her when Caeda better stick with wind sword for arena. And yeah NYCamilla and Elincia are both 5* locked and after using Caeda for a long time she's like a breath of fresh air. Btw her def stat is underrated af

Worth noting. Saber has gotten a considerable buff with his new weapon and refine, since the video was released. The Golden dagger. Which gives him a boost of +4 to all his stats in combat as long as his special is charged. With the help of shield pulse, and his weapon`s slaying effect, more then likely will.

Surprisingly, I have a robin that is extremely versatile in heroes, using vantage, quick Reposte, and defiant speed, and since he WILL take damage in some way, I'll be able to take advantage of it, not to mention my Cherche with Slaying Hammer being buffed to 57 attack from his tome refinement

To be fair 80-90% of units released at/close to launch were going to be power creeped (not to mention every gacha game needs a couple of crap units). I disagree on male Robin, he saved my ass during the Takumi meta and still finds use whenever I need a good colorless killer.

I built up a 5* +10 Henry and I've won loads of arena defenses. He has close counter and Ignis, and Close Def 3 and Chill Defense 3. He's on a team with Def Tactic users and Rally Defense units (partnered with my Tank of a Frederick). Hopefully I'm not making ppl cry when they think of the feathers I've used 😂

One of the things I think made Cavaliers not as good in heroes is horsemounted units have a lot of weaknesses. Sure they did in the main games but I feel its dialed up in heroes. Would love to see a video on best season units

I'll correct you here, Henry is a God tier unit in Awakening, especially in Lunatic, and he is the best Nosferastall user He is also a unit you want in a Lunatic+ run. WITHOUT DLC BECAUSE DLC IS CHEATING

Yes she is solid in Conqest I use her a lot, also I only made a jab at her once in this video and even then it wasn't her specifically but rather all 4 of those characters, in fact I'm actually one of the people who really likes Peri as opposed to mountains of hater, so saying "stop mocking her" as if is a continuous thing is silly.

10- Not gonna lie, the most use I’ve gotten out of Gunter is his cavalry ability, doesn’t help he’s one of the few nonsesional cavalry axe units. 9- I’ve never actually used Henry in heroes, generally dumping him for feathers. 8- Oof, this one hurts, aside from shield pulse, Saber really has a hard time standing out. 7- Palla has actually helped me out with some hero battles and quests, but yeah, definitely a downgrade. 6- Fun fact, I have never had Leo, and from what I’ve heard, not missing much. Hell even Elise outclasses him with wrathful staff and gravity+. 5- Oh, another one that hurts. I wish Mathilda was better, but she’s just so bleh. 4- Imagine Awakening Sully meeting Heroes Sully, oi vey. 3- Ask me a year ago and would have agreed, but I found that Robin can still be good given the right investment, still definitely a downgrade. 2- I remember when the cavalier class was something to be feared, now most seem just okay. 1- Haven’t played SS but I’ve heard all about how much Seth was nerfed, so much so I think poring one out for him is necessary.

I just recently started playing SS and I feel like I can confirm. After 10 chapters he still either one shots or doubles all of the enemies he's faced thus far, and has never been lowered under 15 HP. Then again I am playing on normal so that might be the reason why (Easy felt like it would have been too easy and since I'm still somewhat new to FE I didn't feel like trying hard especially since that's this game's Lunatic sorta) but yeah he definitely seems significantly less potent in Heroes than in Sacred Stones.

One of the things I find most fun in doing in FEH is making bad units or units that got so downgraded fit in to new roles, and making them shine where they usually can't. And with Seth being one of my current merge projects, I can safely say that I'm having a blast building him into being one of the best physical walls in the game. Even if it goes to the contrary of what he was good at in Sacred Stones. Now, when's that top 20 best FE units of all time list coming out?/s

Cancel Affinity does not ignore the weapon triangle unless Triangle Adept is involved, I'll demonstrate… All levels of it negate TA's effect if the user has both it and CA together, and they have extras for the levels: Lvl 1: Ignores Triangle Adept's effects, but leaves the weapon triangle effects in. Lvl 2: Again, TA gets negated except only if the CA user is at a *disadvantage*. Lvl 3: The TA effect is _reversed,_ meaning if Mathilda was to fight Arthur, Narcian, Titania, or even Cecilia w/ TA, they're in for a rude awakening.

Let me be the thousandth person to wish you luck on summoning your best girl. Part of the issue with cavalry units was that for a while they dominated the arena. I wouldn't say the issue is hate so much as trying to balance the game in favor of other unit types and wrecking a lot of cavalry units.
