For example, many third person action games for example don't follow the exact same formula to differentiate themselves. Some has no lock-on system, some has auto tracking/magnetized attacks to the nearest enemy when you press an attack button, etc. But they're still labled as third person action games because at their core, that's the genre they designed the game around. To me, the difference you mentioned is the same as those that are still labled as said genre despite the minor difference in game mechanic. But I'm fine if you think otherwise, doesnt affect me.

What's the most interesting thing to me about the game is that it's not being made by Bamco's usual arena fighter gophers. t's being made by Tamsoft, of Oneechanbara and Senran Kagura fame. This has the potential to be a low-key bop or a straight up disasterpiece.

The balancing of characters and battle is there. That's one of the main things they spoke on and we see that each character PV. Each character is diverse in gameplay(some characters attack patterns+moveset even change with transformations). Online is what I'm hoping is good and runs smoothly. That's a MUST, can't wait to run it with Grimmjow, Harribel, Zaraki and HM Ichigo 😭😭🙏🏼.

The studio working on this is experienced at making 3D fighters so good netcode is to be expected (at least for me it is). I'm not sure about cross play but I'm hopeful that is the case if they're supporting older gen consoles Punishing ragequits is something I'm also praying they do and I have faith in Tamsoft for that. Balancing is what they themselves said they were gonna prioritize so hopefully they pull through with it.
