It makes no sense that the bankai is a guaranteed 1 hit kill, there's probably activation condition for the last stage (e.g. trying to "break the promise" according to the play and get out of the water). Lily relied too much on his innate power at that point and stopped using his brain. If he stayed in the water with Shunsui he might outlast him

As I've said the underwater portion was beautiful, the sun rays shining beneath the sea was amazing and would make a fine painting even with it's dark and deadly meaning. kageokuri is just as good as illusions, but better. He leaves a copy of himself so the shadow you see is indiscernible from the real Shunsui. Not only is it a step up from the technique that Soi-Fon uses, but it fools the senses like KS because every fighter uses reikaku sensing in their battles. The stronger you are the more it fools you. How can you fight that?

Guys, Askin is dangerous or should I say lethal, however… him incapacitating Ichigo is NOT an anti-feat for Ichigo. It’s the same situation as Nanana knocking out Aizen. Surely no one goes around saying “oh Nanana knocked out Aizen, so he scales relative to him”, right? That’s absurd. In both situations it’s both an element of surprise plus hax. Plus not to mention, in the manga once Yoruichi shows up to heal Ichigo, Orihime and Chad from the poison, Ichigo just stood up as if nothing happened. He didn’t need any healing from Askin’s poison and Yoruichi even comments on that she’s not surprised. Guys, Ichigo is massively above Askin and him being temporarily put down doesn’t change that fact.

@ Askin is definitely no slouch indeed, but that doesn’t change the fact that Ichigo scales way above him (and Kisuke and Yoruichi for that matter) in power. With the added content in the anime we even see how base Ichigo straight up overpowered base Yuha. Remember, that version of Yuha has absorbed numerous soul power throughout the war plus used auswahlen and still Ichigo defeated him effortlessly in base. Surely you’re also not suggesting that Yuha isn’t far above his own men in power are you? Later on Ichigo also pulls out HOS against Soul King Yuha, to where the latter outright says that he has no room for error. Ichigo goes bankai after that and Yuha doesn’t even want to fight it head on due to its power, despite having absorbed the Soul King. My guy, Askin is strong but he is nowhere near Ichigo in power.

@ ichygo had to get multiple power ups before he could even take on Yuha. He was still weaker than bankai Yamamoto after his soul palace training when he got shit on by uruyu. Askin was upgraded to royal guard because he’s so strong and he easily on par with uruyu who beat him. You’re not adding the context if you don’t think uruhara and youruichi are stronger than the Ichigo that first when up against yuha.

Shunsui’s Bankai isn’t child’s play. I mean understand what you’re trying to say but this is what his Bankai represents. His Shikai represents what children would do to entertain themselves or have fun. That’s playing games and having fun. While his Bankai represents what adults do to relax and entertain themselves. That is go to the theater or watch plays. So his Shikai is a child the shorter sword and his Bankai is an adult his longer sword. Because his swords are different sizes. And each sword has its own abilities.

This episode was a 10 out of 10 for me for three reasons: Kyoraku’s Bankai finally being animated, Lille Barro’s transformation with his Vollstandig being green (because green is in my top 5 favorite colors) and the last but not least Soi Fon didn’t get sniped down by Lille, which I was so happy and glad. Because I definitely want to see some anime exclusive content with Soi Fon teaming up with Yoruichi, Yushiro and Urahara against Askin, even if she ends up losing to him in the process.

I think it's safe to say Ryuken and Isshin will play a larger role in Part 4. I think Ryuken vs. Haschwalth and Uryu would be a great way to do this. Hear me out. We know from the manga that Uryu intends to betray Yhwach, but what if he doesn't start that way? In this line of thought, Uryu read about the history of the Quincy in Soken's journal and he decides to side with Yhwach because he's a Quincy but his bond with Ichigo and Co. (as well as his realization that Ichigo has Quincy powers) makes his resolve waver. Now Yhwach has absorbed the Soul King and he is clearly afraid when he sees this and that fear could "strengthen" his resolve to side with his King. He doesn't yet understand what his father cares about the most (Uryu himself), and he's caught in the pride and honor of the Quincy...until he sees his father cut down by Haschwalth which would give an opportunity for Ryuken to tell Uryu with his final words that his son is, an always was, the thing he most wanted to protect. Uryu fights Haschwalth as he does in the manga but defeats him decisively THEN Yhwach kills Haschwalth with the Auschwhalen, and Uryu realizes the honor of the Quincy was his grandfather's ideal, not Yhwach's. With his last breath, Ryuken gives Uryu the Stil Silver and tells Uryu that he is now the Last Quincy and to protect what matters most to him: his friends. Time this with Ichigo's final battle with Yhwach just right, and Uryu EARNS his clutch play of the decade, and Ichigo lands the coup de grace. I don't have much on what Isshin could do, but I do believe it needs to involve Yhwach, Not a fight, if Isshin can't sense Aizen in caterpillar mode, he probably isn't sensing Yhwach either. That said, with Yhwach referring to Ichigo as his son, it would be cool to see Isshin have someting to say about that.

in my opinion as an anime watcher only, i really liked the episode but i felt lost towards him using bankai... because to me i know that his shikai is based of children games and that game rules apply to both of them basically, but with his bankai he made is seem as if he was the narrator of a story or basically god and whatever he says happens to the person infront of him not to mention both him and Ohana saying some lines together while she was being the sad one during the acts made me feel as if she was the woman and Lille was the husband and Shinsui was narrating their story as if he just made it up. i later found out online what the story was about and some other details which lead me to different idea's. but i felt like as an anime watcher only it would have been much better if we got an explanation of what the story was or what made him choose this instead of others or is it just one story for his bankai.. i dont know if that makes any sense, but to me watching with no knowledge from the manga i didnt really understand why what happened happened. like usually every character explains their bankai but this was more like this will happen to you then this then this then magic thread goodnight. instead if this is a theater and im the narrator and i will tell a story that will make you the main character and everything i say happens lol. plus Mayuri's episode felt much better in terms of animation and overall fight yes i understand Shinsui is broken and i love him for that but it needed more impact imo.

I don't think that part where Shunsui specifies that you cannot die from the shared wounds implies that said wounds were previously mortal. He even jokingly bragged about how he's stupidly strong and now has to painfully run about with those severe injuries and despite their severity that won't be enough to kill him. What i think Shunsui is trying to clarify here is that if somehow Shunsui would have been more seriously injured to the point where it would lead to an immediate or close to immediate death, those injuries wouldn't just transfer to the opponent and kill him as well. The condition for the first act to take place is for the sustained injuries of Shunsui to not be fatal.

I wonder if there are activation requirements for each steps, and ultimately it turns the battle into a contest of willpower 1. Wound sharing, nuff said 2. The plague equalizes the staima/blood loss from said injuries so both have the same physical state at that point 3. Plunged into the water, this ends with one of them drowning 4. If the opponent chose to run away, Shunsui can cut off their head If this is the case, Shunsui was being very sneaky when he didn't tell Lily the rule here, contrary to when he said "its only fun when both sides know the rule" about his shikai. If I’m not mistaken that it wouldn’t be Shiniji as next in line as Head Captain. I believe that the next in line would be Byakuya and then after Byakuya is Toshiro. I really don’t remember where I read that from but I swear on my next heartbeat that I read that that is the line order for the next Captain Commanders. And other than the age thing thing it makes perfect sense. In order to become the next CC one most possess not just one or two of the qualities to be the CC(Captain Commander) but all skills! They would have to be a master of kido, Kaido, Hado, Shunpo, expert proficiency in their Zanpakuto Shikai and Bankai , leadership skills, as well as overall strong enough to hold that position. Byakuya is one of the few who has all those attributes in a CC to the T. He’s literally trained his whole life to be a Shinigami and is also one of the Great Noble Families. And he became extremely more powerful since returning from the Soul Palace. After returning from the SP his Shikai is just as powerful if not more powerful than his Bankai used to be. And his Bankai has become more powerful than it’s prior state. He’s calm, level headed and proficient enough to take up the role after Shunsui. And yes, Shinji was giving the speech he gave but Byakuya is one of those characters who’s ok listening to others when the time is right if need be. And as far as Toshiro I believe he’s in line just due to the fact of how young and powerful he is. I believe that they probably believe that since he’s younger that they can train him if need be to get to that proficiency level that he needs to be. Toshiro is impulsive and hot headed at times but that’s only due to his young age and maturity level. He’s already shown his growth when he realized that he jumped in head first with Kang Du and lost his Bankai. He even swallowed his pride and was asked to be trained but the leader of the Squad 10 kendo instructor. When Toshiro reaches adult form his Bankai is literally able to freeze concepts! Idk how that works exactly but it’s stated to be able to freeze concepts🤷🏾‍♂️lol.

the only critisism I have is that Lilli's Vollständig is basically a biblical angel, so I was hoping to hear a track similar to evangelion themes, since S. Sagisu is the same composer, but since the focus was more on the bankai I guess I can still hope for the part that happens after that

11:44 Central 46 would never go for it. An impure Captain-Commander with Hollow powers? They won't even consider that. Byakuya would be their choice just because of the ties to the noble families. 23:01 Showing Ichigo resisting is already a feat but I still don't want that scene to happen, at least not as abruptly as it did. Askin will have plenty of chances to prove his threat credibility with Yoruichi and Urahara. At the very least, I'd like Ichigo to workaround it somehow before Yoruichi pulls in with the assist. Despite the improvements, Ichigo still needs a win this arc.

I really hoped that in the anime Kubo would have explained the real extent of his bankai. Is it like his shikai and so he can turn into reality multiple theater plays or is it just this one? Hope that we will get the answer in the future.

This was a great episode it just wasn’t my favorite. I felt like I wasn’t able to take a second and really take it in. The fight felt very fast paced which I understand. It felt like a very quick fight. Which it was they didn’t waste any time. I love the green visual of lil Barro lol. I didn’t like his transformation design but to each their own. But very good episode.
