there is nothing wrong with box dyes, you just need to use the right colours and apply it properly and understand what the number systems mean. yours looks good. hairdressers tell you box dye is bad because they want to charge you £100 to color your hair haha

No, I had dyed my hair black woth boxdie and when I bleached it it would only lift to orange. I later dyed my hair with a hairdresser color (also black) and when I bleached my hair it instantly came out. They wanna know cause they need to know if your hair can be bleached or dyed without problems.

Black hair will always bleach orange. Its impossible to bleach black hair and it not turn orange

I lightened my blonde hair with garnier nutrisse when the line first came out in 2002/2003 (I think). I just remember how luxurious my hair looked and felt. I’ve never been able to find a conditioner that I like as much as the conditioner that came with the dye. I’ve tried garniers’ conditioners that they released a year or so after their dye and it’s just not the same ☹️ I will be lightening my hair again soon I will definitely be using garnier. I’m glad to see that they kept the same quality after 17 years.

try Three Minute Miracle from Aussie! I think it's comparable to the box dye conditioners :) It's meant to be used as a deep conditioner, but I used it as reg conditioner - avoiding my roots tho bc it's so moisturizing that it can make your roots look oily

This was a game changer I can't thank you enough for this recommendation of the Garnier Nutriese. I've tried to lighten my daughter's dark blonde hair using other drugstore box color with negative orange results. I thought they were all created equal. I had no idea that garnier was the least orange inducing of all of them. we didn't even have to tone with this color , we just used a little bit of purple mask.

I like the first color you started with, the strawberry blonde. You look more unique with the first color. The blonde turned out super great, not a mistake... but the strawberry blonde really harmonizes well with your skin tone, eye color - and looks unique.

You have beautiful hair anyway but I really loved your the strawberry blonde colour at the beginning...not joking I thought it was your natural colour,.I'm 56 & my icon photo was taken about 6 yrs ago when I.still could be bothered to the my hair..I too with having naturally dark blonde hair could get my hair really really blonde with just a quality blonde box dye...have to admit I.have ALWAYS liked my hair far more when I've either coloured or cut it myself..I cut 16 inches off my hair a few weeks ago following Brad Mondo's KZbin video & it's weird having a long bob hair ..it feels amazingly thick.I.has always had a huge head of hair & only cut it because my thyroid has taken its toll on my hair & snails x

i feel like this wouldnt work on me because my hair has so much color deposited in it. I think it'll just tint it on the surface. I have highlights but my hair salon lady decided to deposit a darker brown into my hair as a lowlight. kinds sucks. I think ill lift it with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, then put box dye on it.

I was supposed to go light blonde at hair dressers and they left most of my brown hair out of it for ( highlights) it looks horrible and so much darker than I wanted and they haven’t even made it look natural, there is blotchyness so I really hope this lightens it

Natural blonde roots look dark because that's the oiliest part of the scalp where the ends are more dry and are lighter from less wetness from scalp oils

Wow - gorgeous! Your starting hair is very similar to mine, and I actually got that same garnier lightener.... I’m worried, though, because I used a box root dye (w/lightener) about a month ago, but it took my hair too dark strawberry and reeeally made my root grow-out look horrific. Big mistake. Hm.
