You know what *might* save you an extra bleaching ? Is covering it in foil, putting a Walmart bag on your head, or using a hot blow-dryer. That heat is what you need to go from outside banana yellow to inside banana yellow.

that only works if your base is light brown or lighter!

yes! If your hair is not that damaged when bleaching it then do the following: * after bleach is applied take a shower cap and spray warm water inside. * after doing that, put the shower cap onto your head and put EVERY hair inside. * the last 3-5 minutes you can use a blow dryer and blow dry the shower cap, this produces very much heat which makes the bleach process extremely fast, *but it’s going to be damaging as hell so be careful!* the reason why you need to spray some water into the shower cap is because bleach needs moisture AND heat to work, with this technique you have both and you can have very nice results. Also don’t use a grocery bag which is printed, especially dark bags can leave some patchy dark spots in your hair and printed ones can sometimes put the color of the print on it (i.e red, blue etc) What I also reccomend is using the Schwarzkopf BlondMe bleach, it has a bonding technology which leaves the hair with less damage + the developer is working really fast, you can go with 6%(20 vol) with the upper method 3-4 levels up.

Yep foil or plastic cap/bag always helps. ! Not only does it hold in the heat our head produces it helps to keep the bleach moist and therefor fully active. I'm half an half Portuguese/Danish w/naturally dark hair like dads dads side of all that so lets just say my Platinum blond days back in the 80s we're definitely quite challenging to say the least LOL Being i got the dark spanish eyes an hair to match ! Now luckly its not so dark where it goes directly to Johnny Rotten orange per say but it really does just naturally want to come up to a charming color of baby chicken yellow ! LoL !! What a color ! An as your looking at it in the mirrior still wet moving it about ya think to yourself "well hell it will lighten up a bit once its dry. Its still wet". Lets go to sleep now an look at it in the morning & go from there Morning comes an by the light of day an ya catch that first starteling look in the mirror on way to bathroom ! ROTFL !!! Sometimes LoL its like what color is that ! Day glow baby chicken ! Seriously OMG ! But back in my Platinum days I had to not let the roots get very long at all. Because it was process so high and with a high-lift Torrids toner usually "Electric Pearl"that on top of L'Oreal super blue bleach to be able to bring my hair up that high. I couldn't risk overlapping and that area closest to the scalp that gets the lightest from the heat from your head if my roots were past that long really even with the bag or shower cap on my head it wouldn't all come up as light as the roots closest to my scalp and the part that was already bleached. SMH an that would mean that I was gonna end up with a yellow band from waiting a bit too long before doing my roots. A really thin & quite obvious yellow band Awww !!! Because if i let that occure then I would have to get a friend who was a beautician to fix it or live with that tacky yellow band cuz I couldn't fix that w/the condition my hair was in by the time i was able to do Platinum seriously to get my hair high enough to handle Platinum toner back then my hair was damaged so bad that it was slimy and stretchy when it was clean and wet and not from conditioner or bleach still being in it or anyting it was just that damaged you have to be very careful with it when it's wet and never told it when it's wet when it's in that kind of condition or you will break it off very fragile when it's wet . Oh and when it's dry it was actually crunchy you can hear it when you touch it when dry. OMG seriously it totally sounded like it had a whole bunch of Aquanet cheap Hairspray in it when it was freshly washed and conditioned and dry without anything in it LOL though it was only shortly after that when we learned from this little old Portuguese Barber who worked out of this little old Barbershop that catered to a little old men that was located up on Shattuck Avenue right by the Bart train station in Berkeley California it has gotten around by Word of Mouth that discovers punk-rocker friendly and did a real fine job for Barber prices instead of Beauty Shop prices. And he did all kinds of the local punk rockers haircuts. Every time I went to him before touching my hair he would grab a tube of something and put it in his hands first and then rub it through my hair. This stuff turned out to be like magic. It was KMS hair reconstructor. White tube w/black writing & the stuff inside was a tan color cream that smelled like a bottle of vitamins. Its directions said to use it once or twice a week after shampooing thats all that would be needed. I couldnt wash daily but would use the KMS after every wash. Anyways OMG that stuff was unbelieveable absolutely unbelievable i swear I didn't believe that at that point anything could repair hair that was THAT BAD. I was just trying to keep it on my head as long as it would stay but never in my life thought id ever be able to comb it when still damp an have it not stretch an break or ever have it not stiff and crunchy sounding once dry w/o leave in heavy conditioner wet an in it. I knew that I was eventually going to have to cut all the damage off and start anew it was just that damaged it was pure fact. But i was wrong it turns out as unbelievable as that is after using that stuff by KMS it turned back into hair again somehow 😮i mean seriously talk about 1000% impressive I don't know if it's still being made or not I haven't had my hair process like that since the 90s so I haven't had the need for it but if it is that is amazing stuff. Seriously I still do this day can't believe that it turned back into hair from whatever that was because it was beyond damaged Anyways I've said entirely enough LOL bye

Overall great job. I also bleach my hair at home. I've found when working in areas like this a pretty small brush with less product on it will help, you can layer the bleach rather than initially putting bunches. In the future maybe try a layer of foil clipped to the areas you dont want bleached to avoid the overlapping or accidents lol. You can also lather the hair you dont want bleached in conditioner, that should protect it. You make me miss my dark hair 🖤🖤

It looks awesome. You could have green bits if the parts that were yellow are interacting with a blue undertone in the toner. That will go away if you use a more violet toner 😊
