Pre toning the hair before fashion shades is beneficial when doing pastels or any colour where you don’t want the underlying pigment to contribute to the end colour. Pre toning is a good way to avoid green/turquoise in your blue when lifted below a level 9 ☺️

You can tell the first girl did so much research 👍🏾 This reminds me of when I first got my hair professionally dyed green ombre (was supposed to be teal, but ok) and it took 4 hours and cost hundreds of dollars and was soooooo subtle.. It faded out to a moss green, which was super fun.

@@XSemperIdem5 kind of related kind of not, I had a hairdresser put tape in extensions in, she didn't cut them in, they looked so ratty AND she couldn't find where she put the underneath tape so she literally just stuck the other side to a random part of my head. It was my first extensions ever so I thought I'd trust her I didn't know any better, until I got home and Mum was like wtf... and marched me up there to ask wtf it was and to get my money back😂 I think I only got half? But never went there again

@@steviwoodberry6433 since we're exchanging bad hairdresser experiences from high school: I told my small town hairdresser I wanted ombre back when it was all the rage in 2011 and she obviously didn't know how to do it, but acted like she did, bleached literally four bright orange streaks into the lower layers of my dark brown hair and had the nerve to call it a day and expected me to pay €80 for that dumpsterfire of a dye job. I was 17, too meek to argue back then and literally cried for days, then my friend stepped in and literally did a better job with drug store bleach. 🙃

Just a word of caution, this style is a commitment! I did this to my hair about a year ago, and now when I put more natural permanent colors on top that underlayer color is pretty visible when it fades out

I dyed my underneath hair blue a year ago and since then every dark color I've put over it has faded back to a blue-mix. I went for a full head dark-cherry 9 months after and my underneath ends faded to a charcoal. Still feeling the wrath haha.

I love this style as well! I have natural blonde hair that has so many different shades of blonde and I love it, but I also love having color in my hair. I found a dye that is perfect for low commitment and it legit washes out after a few washes unlike colorists that claims it comes out in 7-9 washes and takes legit months to get out

@@fynn2614 Well, I use Arctic Fox for color, which isn't the best for everyone, but it works really, really well for me. I also prefer Ion Bright White Creme Lightener for the bleach, rather than powder. It's just a better formula in my experience, and it didn't damage my hair as much. But this is all in my personal experience, so please take that with a grain of salt. Just stay away from box kits if you can, lol.
