Pro colorist here : 1 don't mix alot of bleach at once because it will loose its power with every minute. 2 small sections or u won t put enough products on some spots it won t loft evenly 3 bleach the darker pieces first (ends as they had dye so it takes longer to lift) then mids then roots . 4 tone acording to the darkest pieces . Use a darker toner for the roots . Lighter roots r just off .

If my roots/top hair is darker should I still bleach them first? Just making sure because I've been told to do my tips/ends first then work my way up

This is so good. I just recently did the underside of my hair too, mine was virgin level 2 hair that I bleached twice with 30 vol developer and it *still* didn't turn out this light 😑 It's like at a level 7 now and I'm just going to tone it cause I don't want to bleach it again lol

to be fair i left the bleach in for longer than i was supposed to, so that may be why my hair was able to get as light as it did the second time. toning can be a magical thing sometimes, so hopefully it''ll help you lol

Yes! I had gone to Sallys earlier today and a girl there recommended wella t14 and I just recently finished toning it and it's at the very least a nice color even though it didn't get to a platinum. I'm just going to leave it like this cause now I'm thinking about maintanence and I don't want to have to bleach roots a million times to make it match lol

@@chocolatedaisy yeah bleaching my roots is a pain. sectioning the brown from the blonde is difficult sometimes so i don’t blame u. if u ever do want to go lighter maybe do a bleach bath?

I'm living vicariously through this video because I'm too poor and too much of a coward to do this lol. My hair is as long as yours and almost as dark as the top section. I did my fair share of bleaching and frying my hair off in my late teens and early twenties, but it got too expensive, and I wanted long and virgin hair, so even though sometimes I get that urge to put bleach on my hair, I just watch videos. I loved the end result, it gave me late 2000s-early 2010's vibes.

i've had to bleach my hair multiple times... it took a long time to get it where i wanted it cuz i waited anywhere from a week to over a month to bleach. i think i've bleached the blonde four times- i just do roots now and when i tone i bring the toner down to the old blonde.
