If you have a manual gearbox (I know, not common there, but it is here in Europe), don't forget to also bleed the clutch - same bleeder nipple on/near the gearbox and it pulls fluid from the brake reservoir. It is often overlooked. Not as critical due to less hydraulic pressure&temperatures, so less risk of fading, but it will help to keep your slave cylinder operating smoothly for longer.
@zachm79162 жыл бұрын
The only thing is that these cars are garbage and the nipple is plastic. I lucked out and I was able to bleed mine, but beware; if it breaks you might have to change the whole slave cylinder tube by dropping the transmission.

Hi, thanks for another nice and informative video. As I read it is better to start bleeding the fluid from the farthest one (right left) to the nearest one (left front). can you explain why didn't you do the same?

I replace my brake fluid once a year. Try using rubber grease around the bleeder so don't get bubbles coming in from the bleeder that way you know when you have bled your system correctly.

The main reason to change brake fluid regularly is because it absorbs moisture over time. This lowers the boiling point ,(bad). The moisture also corrodes the brake system components.

I have air in the system. Bled the rear right brake and the spongy feeling is gone. Do I need to finish with the rest or can I call it a day? Heard the P1 had a brake distributor. That should take care of it?

I've been warned against using a power bleeder like that to do this job. Either you risk getting air into the system or you have to compensate by using extra fluid. I still use the bleeder, but fill the reservoir between bleeds.
@dalilamoh16013 жыл бұрын
Ok we understand how we flashing brake fluid there are lot videos show that. but no one show us how we clean the motive power bottle and store it for the next time because brake fluid absorbing moisture are you gonna use it with ald brake fluid left over next time? That gonna be disaster

The only problem with fluid that old is the new fluid can possibly dislodge rust and corrosion from lack of prior fluid changes and can release the rust and debris over time in the new fluid which could damage the caliper seals . It would wise to flush a second time one mouth later to get the crap loosened by new fluid 👊🏻👍🏻 great video

I'm surprised to see that your V50 T5 AWD has the 300mm front brakes rather than the 320mm many of them have. Have you considered upgrading those?

Note: Good job but you have not replaced all the fluid, the hydraulic clutch shares the same reservoir as the braking system, so the braking system can get contaminated with old fluid still in the the clutch line, clutch line fluid can be changed from bleed nipple above bell housing but fluid in the clutch slave cylinder can not be replaced :(
@iamtherealjun3 жыл бұрын
