Simpler way in accessory vessel bleeding is to plug the tooth back and see if it helps after 15 minutes or 20 if not put the tooth back again ahd send the patient to the hospital. This is helpful especially if the tooth has not been sectioned. Sometimes this can happen due to intrabony haemangiomas even which are very difficult to diagnose just from an xray.

this is a really helpful tip and especially brilliant in the moment of stress and not having the access/confidence with diathermy or heated instrument! Respect!

I have found applying haemostatic agents, the same ones you use during gingival retraction on the cords, work very well to stop bleeding. You can place it on wet gauze and apply it directly on bleeding socket and ask patient to bite on it.If there is minor arterial bleeding which often happen due to inadvertent needle pricks or injuring during gingiva elevation , you can apply these agents directly on bleeding spot.
