I just did this mod on my Comanche driver side and it took me all day and the window still catches the seal at the top of the door and then slips into it if you keep turning the crank. Guess it still needs some adjustments. Next weekend I’ll do the passenger side. The measurements in this video did not get me close at all. Still a good video though and I love the full window.

Thank you for the video. I've been looking to do this. The main reason I'm doing this is because I was on a trail ride crossing a creek that was deeper then I thought. The seals was holding the water out but I'm a bigger guy and I have big shoulders I couldn't get out the 90 XJ driver window so I had to open the door and flooded my jeep. It made me start thinking "man that is a safety hazard and the case of a Emergency

I didn't know it could be done... This is exactly what I've been needing and wanting to do for over a year now. Next junkyard trip it's happening. Will shoot for electric windows - easy to wire up to an aftermarket switch, and I assume should fit up easier since no need for extending those splines. Even better, don't even got to clearance for speakers, since I relocated mine to the footwells for running removable doors.

Instead of an 18 mm bolt mine had a Torx T 30 and the backside kept spinning. Thank God the backside had to open holes in which I could place the ends of a pair of snap ring pliers to hold hard enough to keep it steady to keep it from camping while I spend it with the drill. I don’t understand how anybody can do this without breaking the window on the style. I wish I had the same style as yours. Mine is a 1991 jeep Cherokee Laredo 4.0 high output four-wheel-drive Black cherry metallic with a September 12, 1990 date code stamped on the inside of the door card

If "good enough" is up to your standards then this video isn't too bad. If you are just going to beat the shit out of your jeep and then throw it away then go for it. For me all 3 mounting locations for the regulator MUST be spaced out from the sheet metal 1/2". Also in order to install the crank part of the regulator without horribly binding the plastic tube, you will have to locate the 2 mounting bolts very differently than shown. Also be aware that NOT ALL DOOR SPEAKERS WILL CLEAR THE NEW GLASS.
