This will be the first time Matt has seen the Smoke Show S10 since its debut in Moab Utah against @rudysadventureanddesign717 @MischiefMakerTV @DirtLifestyle @thedirtheadshed on the OnX Off Road Build Challenge. Things have changed a lot but there is still a lot to do. This is one interesting episode!

This video reminds me of the first Utube video I ever watched. Bleepin Matt was replacing the floor pans in the White Comanche. I had the same truck then and considered doing that project myself. I ended up selling the truck but I have an XJ that needs it too. I talked with Matt at the Jeep Invasion in Pigeon Forge last year. His Scorpion is amazing. You guys make a great team. Stay Safe in your work. MWP Cosby, Tn.

The rear of the s10 frame will twist the frame if its too large to handle all the beef. I would box the rear of the chassis especially if you go to a coil link setup. If sticking with leaf springs it may be ok as it spreads the side to side loads more.

Rig is coming along nicely! Most times, as I watch things being built, be as antithetical as I am, I find stuff, some ever so minor, and comment on it. On yours, I don't except for one thing, The wheel base. I have a 120" wheel base, and a lot of times, I wish I had rear steer, or, it hangs me up into the center because of the break over of an obstacle or what ever. That is my one and only concern with your build, except for I'd have gone with an aluminum 7075 tie rod, as when it bends, it comes back out in shape. Something else that helps anything that gets rubbed hard on the rocks, like your tie rod, and maybe your rocker guards, is to put 7075 slugs inside, which requires some milling and fitment. But, it works very good!

I miss that tow yard it was a hippie parts place when I was around Custer/Rapid City depending on where in the Black Hills we were camped (in the early 90s) you could trade parts for parts work for parts I rebuilt an Olds 350 rocket (they bought the parts and paid the machine shop I worked in the yard and towed for them till it was paid for then continued working during the day and used the shop after hrs to build my engine luckily it wasn't hurt bad just lost oil pressure and shut it down while I still had 10psi and dropping and coasted into Custer and the friend I was going to be best man for was related to the owner so we worked out a sweet deal since I was 10 hrs from home took me all summer (by choice) to get my Cutlass ready to rock and roll home then I had to take my single rear wheel 83 K30 3+3 camper special that id extended the frame installed a 14 ft utility bed and my 40 ft gooseneck flatbed trailer to haul the vehicles and parts home I can't remember how many 1 ton axles were chained to the top of the neck I had a couple 454s with granny 4 speeds in the bed with several t-cases a couple CJ rollers stacked up front a K5 blazer and a couple K20s with a shortbed C10 (later converted to a K30) barely on the back of the trailer (we had to remove the tires to chain it down without the rear tires falling off the trailer) lots of misc parts in the vehicles and more picked up along the way home now most my loaded are derby cars so I can stack 2-3 high without worrying about body damage and I take my modified Kodiak top kick if I'm picking up more than rollers for rollers the trusty 83 Silverrattle still puts in work

I really enjoyed the 231 doubling videos. However I noticed that you installed the 6 pinion planetary gear in the cut tcase and the 4 pinion in the full tcase, and then the cut tcase is the one closest to the engine to gain length for the driveshaft. Doesn't it make sense to have the 6 pinion inline AFTER the 4 pinion to handle the extra torque of the first reduction?

BTW, you get a "sun burn" not a nice tan from welding without a helmet. I often tack weld things in my shop without a helmet, but after 10 or more tacks, I get a sunburn. More tacks, the more it hurts. Welding is worse.

The definition of "up" is: "Away from the center of gravity" when you're going up in elevation you're going further away from the center of gravity on earth and that is the correct use of "up". heading north alone does not change your relationship to earth's gravity so it would not constitute the term going "up".
