i had the same problem, running UE5 through preset for archviz. I switeched to Games > Blank and everything was solved. Also try to uncheck virtual textures in project settings. But Blend materials directly through the quixel bridge is still buggy.

Man. Thats most probably because you have the textures converted to Virtual Textures. This material is not compatible with Virtual Textures. You should convert them to Regular Textures. Your welcome

I can't drag in the textures, it's showing red. According to a forum thread it have to do with my Virtual Textures support enabled. But the solution provided there i can't follow, it seems to be outdated.

Try swapping the black and white between paint color and erase color, I'm on 5.3 and this works for me
