I've used blender for a few years now and really like it when creators come from other softwares and introduce their own workflow into blender. Your's is very easy to follow and gave me some insight on more ways to improve my animations/sims. Great tutorial!

Denoise absolutely works with GTX cards. Optix is actually less efficient to be used in the viewport. But better when used for render.

Thanks for the video - I followed both your videos and used most of the settings but used a logo instead of the monkey. I didn’t subdivision subdivide the logo but my smoke is more like a mist than the lovely swirly smoke particles you get when it interacts with the monkey. Can you suggest anything I can do to make it more realistic.
@resilientpicture Жыл бұрын
I'm still a novice with Blender,. With smoke sim in Blender you may wanna tweak collision, wind and upres noise settings which will give you swirls. In Houdini it's a lot easier to point out but in Blender it's a lot of trial and error.
@13thnotehifireviews7 Жыл бұрын
@@resilientpicture it’s totally stupid why blender don’t charge people and get some software developers in to have plug ins like in after effects so we don’t have to spend bloody ages tweaking all the settings. It’s almost like they want to give you all the calcs for how it will work but then let you get on with it.
@resilientpicture Жыл бұрын
I am not sure except Blender wants everyone to have financial freedom when using the software. Makes it attractive for people starting out as well as masters.

It would have been interesting to see the animations extended another couple of seconds. Would the smoke dissipate (thin out)? Trying to picture it.

Maybe it happened because of broken cache. It's so not obvious that you have to manually reset it after every modification relevant to smoke

Heya! Very nice video! I followed your tutorial to make a one frame render! There's just one problem I'm facing rn. I'm trying to render the image with a transparent background, but it seems like the smoke sim is stopping that from happening. is there something I can do to fix that?
@resilientpicture Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I am not sure why the smoke render would stop you from rendering it over transparent background. I tried it with my setup and it seems to work. Maybe if you can share the file I can check it out for you. resilientpicture@outlook.com

Hey, thanks for the great vid with no skimping on the details and depth. I have a question, which is a copy/paste from another post I made, but I'm just saving time because I don't know who will respond and who won't. Here goes: The ONE thing I haven't been able to find (because... at this point I'm starting to believe it isn't possible, even though that doesn't seem right) is... how do you, say, have this exact scene, right... but allow the user to move the point of view around while the animation is playing? In other words... is it possible, and how, to take something like this that uses smoke and place it in such a way in a web page or what have you that allows the user to interact with it? I'm very well aware now of how to take basically everything you have here and display the object on a website in the way that I wish, only I haven't managed to work out how to do that with animations. So it'd be just the object and no smoke at all - which isn't nearly as interesting. Is this possible? I've been searching for weeks and weeks, checking on ways to do this. I've gone from exporting it to basically everything, including unity... err, 3js, just whatever, but I still can't get the smoke sims to play. Yes, I can get it to play just like a movie, for example. That isn't hard. You just bake the scene and render it out. No issues there. But I don't want just a video. I want the user to be able to move POV around and mess with things while it's playing. Interactive. IS this possible? And HOW can I do it? Any advice please.
@resilientpicture2 жыл бұрын
First of all, thank you for your kind comments. Second your requirements sound like a game play type where characters interact with objs and Sims in realtime. Have I got this right? Even then an example footage would be nice to see. One last thing I have no knowledge on games or how to use unity / unreal.
@cheknauss98672 жыл бұрын
@@resilientpicture Thanks for answering. I actually don't have a preference about what is used, just so long as it gets the correct result. If that means I need to turn more to a game engine type... thing, that's fine by me. I don't mind sending a video. As far as the smoke effect itself, it probably isn't as complicated as what you have here. Specifically, the animation is supposed to be a gas beginning to flow from a smaller/thinner pipe for a short distance, then the rest of the pipe has a much larger diameter, so the gas would fill that larger area as it moves towards the end of the pipe, essentially just an open hole. In an ideal world with everything going perfectly right and appearing just the way I want it to, it should look like Xenon (yes it's invisible, but for learning purposes here I have it a bit of... fluorescent light blue?) going through a tube into a larger tube. In that larger tube at the end is a sort of heating element in the shape of a coil. The coil heats up and because of the heat, a cathode insert begins emitting electrons, which in turn interacts with the Xe, becoming ions. That might sound a bit complex, but in Blender terms its basically just a smoke effect going from a smaller pipe to a larger pipe. Is there a better way to share a video clip with you? Like Discord or something? KZbin might be ok, but I rather suspect it would be faster just about any other way.

@resilientpicture2 жыл бұрын
Oh yes, the sim has to be baked in blender before rendering, otherwise it uses ram to store sim results and it can be overwritten when full. hope that makes sense.
