I'm currently working on water simulations and what a learning curve it is. Lots of trial and error and lots of tweaking. Worth it in the end though. Great vid BTW.

I appreciate you keeping in the small mistakes because your narration helped me learn what to do when something isn't working correctly. Much more informative then showing a perfect step-by-step tutorial. I wonder if you could avoid inverting the world gravity and just changed the Field Weights on the smoke domain for gravity? Not applicable for this scene. But if you ever wanted to include other physics in it, for example, a rigid body, the gravity would be the "wrong" way for that. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this. I am going to use it to make a witches cauldron animation!

Thank you very much for your kind words. Much appreciated. Yes, I think you should be able to not invert gravity but invert the field weights. Trial and error is how I usually get my results, use the same setup just doing the above instead, see how goes. I am happy to help and glad you find it useful. All the very best with your cauldron animation.

Loved the tutorial! CAn see the amount of renders you must have done just for the tutorial!!!!!!!!

is there a way to stop the smoke simulation? or to make the life time of the smoke not so long? Thanks!
@resilientpicture10 ай бұрын
You can just animate the smoke object to stop emitting smoke.

Sorry a simple question here, just curious how do you preview your PNG Sequence rendering straight in Blender like what you did when you are showing some frame done render for the scene?
@resilientpicture11 ай бұрын
No worries, change the render engine to workbench and viola you can now do viewport render. Hope this helps

I need a video for a song I want to upload and I thought about constant flowing smoke out of an object. Do you know how to loop a smoke animation, so I could just render some seconds and duplicate that, instead of rendering 5 minutes worth of smoke movement? This would mean that the smoke animation needs to start in an already flowing position. Not from 0.

I havent done it, but there's a tutorial I found on Google search. kzbin.info/www/bejne/raXVh2uDbr6Iqassi=mMdRIneb5BOBZYRq

does someone know how to do a similar effect but the smoke is shooting out like a beam? like ice powers in fiction
@resilientpicture11 ай бұрын
You should play with velocity and dissolve settings and hopefully achieve the desired result.

bro u having problems with simulation becouse u should apply scale on ur objects it shold be 1 or scale ur objects in edit mode
@resilientpicture3 ай бұрын
Oh, ok, thanks for that. I'll give it a shot next time.
@blikkcg3 ай бұрын
@@resilientpicture yea, scale 1 is very important for that stuff, look more about it. good luck!

Why don't you just upgrade to 4.0??
@resilientpicture11 ай бұрын
True that
@ТерехинаОксана-ы4т11 ай бұрын
@@timothyj67 Because 4.0 version breaks everything that was created in previous versions, especially the rig and drivers. I don't want to lose my projects, I spent years on them.
@resilientpicture11 ай бұрын
That's fair enough, you just gotta give it a shot and see if it works. I don't see why it wouldn't TBH.
