One tip I've seen from older tutorials - vary the smoke inflow's emission, both over time and over location. Make the inflow object animated and displace it, or vary where the emission happens over time. Keeping it in the same place and at the same rate makes it look rather dull. This is a great tutorial. It gives more than enough for beginners to start :)

Awesome tutorial mate. A fellow Melbournite here :). Just one thing I have not been able to do and I have searched far and wide. Reduce the flames and smoke to sit only at the bottom of the object like It's starting to catch fire? THis is a great tutorial and the best one on the net. As an add-on to this excellent basic tutorial for EEVEE stylized flames, I have a suggestion to have a follow up video on explaining the fire Volume Info attributes. The documentation on this is a little confusing due to the Mantaflow switch and I'm not certain if some of the older attributes like 'heat' are still applicable.

Thank you very much for your effort, with you I have now finally understood the basic concept - even if my fire unfortunately looks quite different (worse) despite the exact values. And strangely enough, sometimes my fire doesn't update when I change the values either.... But here probably only helps: practice, practice, practice...
@joachimfure80302 жыл бұрын
It only updates when you make changes to the domain object. So if you make changes to the inflow object, just go and change the sampling on the domain object one up or down.

How do people get the domain not to cut off their smoke simulation? Do u animate it's height overtime?
@DemNikoArt3 жыл бұрын
So basically you make your domain as big as it needs to be without cutting it off. Then in the domain settings there's the option called "adaptive domain". This will change the scale of the domain related to the size of your fire/smoke. This will save you a lot of baking time since the domain size will change with the size of your simulation :)
@KasiVids3 жыл бұрын
@@DemNikoArt Thanks for explaining
@kooale32523 жыл бұрын
@@DemNikoArt adaptive domain doesnt reduce baking time but rather filesize. Since blender wont have to store the data for the empty voxels.

I don't doubt what you're saying - but -1. if you tweak the settings in Blender you can get pretty realistic results. 2.Most of the time these effects are not to be stared at, but to be flashed on the screen to support X action/event.
