Does Sculpting automatically create a wire mesh model? Or are we using Sculpting tool to make a reference model to create the mesh on
@nothanks15089 ай бұрын
@@grassguy2480 if you guys are still wondering (its been 9 months so i assume not) sculpting is just to create a base to make the mesh, then he makes the mesh, then he uses the multires modifier to sculpt details onto his mesh that he will bake later onto the mesh

This was amazing! Thank you for making this and showing the process. Wow this is crazy I was just recently thinking I need to watch a video on game design process in detail like this, and youtube recommend me it! :D Such a good timing. I thank the universe for delivering me this in recommendations. ♥ This creature looks incredible btw, makes me wish they did something like this in an old game I played when I was a child.

This rocks! I’m curious - after you retopologize and then get into the the sculpt with all the details (scales, wrinkles, etc) how do you account for the shape of your creature changing from the basic retopologized forms? Like drawing out knobs and horns and things that weren’t retopo’d because they didn’t really show up in the basic sculpture forms?

It's kinda of a quick remesh tool. Select R while in sculpt mode to choose the density of the mesh than Shift+R to apply. It's often used after extending the mesh so you can add more details.

Is it possible if I don't do retopo, n straight doing the sculpt?
@MrGATOR19802 жыл бұрын
Very straight forward and effective, for this mobile games Blender is just enough, what was total polycount of HP? and did you use multires or applied sub-d? i heard that aplied sub-d is less stresfull and you can go with higher polycount but i didn't went so deep into Blender personally to test it.
@XXdwheels Жыл бұрын
Fantastic! Here's hoping its a new monster for the next Monster Hunter game :P I have mostly been making stuff to be printed so I was confused why you weren't using dyntopo, then realized you had a multires modifier on. Do you apply the modifier or only during the exporting of the file?
@DavidP-DigitalArt Жыл бұрын
I usually prefer to preserve it. I do my renders in Blender, so this spares me from the hassle of baking a displacement map

That's awesome! Do you use graphics tablet or just mouse on Blender?
@brokenjet6134 Жыл бұрын
Almost definitely a tablet
@SeductiveMask11 ай бұрын
Use mouse in sculpting/texture programs is like shooting yourself in the foot and add CocaCola in the hole of your feet. You only use that to make the base model in maya or blender (but its beter to start it in a sculpt program or tool like the sculpt section in blender or zbrush), if its an object or if you are doing a retopo.

how do you model a side view of something when your referense is in 3 quarters view. That is probably the one thing I stuggle the most with due to being a slight perfectionist.

@eclecticgamer51442 жыл бұрын
@@DavidP-DigitalArt Wow. I'm a noob at modelling, and was always bothered that even moderate quality stuff took 20+ hours... I thought it was just me. :D One of my long term goals is to create this massive geometry nodes setup that would allow artists set some parameters and create models like this in seconds, fully rigged and textured. I've already got the rough prototype made for humanoids. Assuming you make at least $50 an hour, this model costs $2.5k+ (exceptional work, btw). My project would cut costs by 90% or more. It'd still need artists to make the really good stuff (needs a keen eye for art.)
@DavidP-DigitalArt2 жыл бұрын
@@eclecticgamer5144 is this an offer or a threat?
@eclecticgamer51442 жыл бұрын
@@DavidP-DigitalArt 😅 I guess it's a little of both. It would allow insanely fast rapid prototyping of models, allowing basically anyone to generate models fast, but the best models will always need an artistic eye. You and other artists could be 1000's of times more productive. Game companies could produce many, many more high quality games faster. Overall work load would be about the same, just production would have a dramatic increase. Whether I do it, or someone else does it, the future is coming at a breakneck speed. ^_^
@DavidP-DigitalArt2 жыл бұрын
@@eclecticgamer5144 that much is true, you can't suppress human curiosity. if we're talking breakneck speed progress, artists isn't all that AI will soon turn obsolete, but labor as a whole
