The feedback on this video has been amazing, thank you all 😁 And to answer the question about the arms/hands...I can spend quite a while sculpting and re-topologising these aspects, so to save time I keep a library of personal templates. But if you'd be interested in perhaps a sculpting tutorial for this let me know! Best wishes, Keelan

THIS IS A STUNNING MODEL. Am i crazy to think that c4d has a little more of a realistic 'pop' in its rendering than Blender? While Blender does other things better than C4d? Don't get me wrong this is GORGEOUS - but is there a certain physical-tangible feel to c4d renders that is hard to get in Blender? Obviously Blender is free and has all sorts of other great features- but I'm just wondering - mostly for my own sanity lol...
@KeelanJon2 жыл бұрын
Hey hey, thanks for the kind words 😁 And I get what yours saying in regards to your comment on the render differences, I think it's probably a couple of factors. Generally blenders BSDF shader that I'm using here was designed for 'stylised' works, in addition to C4D using other render engines which will yield different results. But there are other render engine options such as Octane that can also be set up in Blender, but in my experience it felt like more hastle to get set up than it was worth 😅 Although I'm sure more experienced Blender artists could probably offer more insight!
@dariofromthefuture30752 жыл бұрын
@@KeelanJon Thank you for the response. Glad im not crazy lol . Rn I'm thinking learn Blender, embrace the online ecostem and the sculpting tools - but just render my stuff in C4d or figure out Octane in Blender as I do enjoy that look.
@riazulrahil2 жыл бұрын
Hi!!!! I know you do these kinds of 3D characters, so I'm asking what are these design types called. I mean what terms in google search will show up results like yours? is it "cute 3D model" "stylized 3D models" "cute low poly 3d character"? these are so generic. Do this kind 3D characters even have a specific name that fall into one group?
@andijasarevic23704 ай бұрын

Noob question from me here.... Well first off I have to say this is amazing video and love your style. Subbed and liked. Looking forward to checking your other work. Question. I have a character for a game and I have added the colours to my model also already. Using a basic one colour per object like instead of texture... Anyways... Do I have to UV Map the colours on or can I use the colours I have put on simply by the shader, material mode way... Assuming I have to UV Map the colours on??
@KeelanJon2 жыл бұрын
Hey man, thanks for the kind feedback 👋😁 This character wasn't specifically designed for game Dev but that is an area I'm starting to dip my toe into so I may be able to touch on it. As far as exporting to a game engine goes, you are correct, generally you'd want to make sure all of your UVs are nicely unwrapped and then you could go ahead and bake any aspect you like such as textures, normals etc for use on other platforms. Or even just use the materials from that platform. Hope that helps 😁☕
@indianastilts2 жыл бұрын
@@KeelanJon awesome. Thought so and found a really good way to use the colour palettes Addon in blender to UV unwrap. Your model is awesome. You deff need to do more. Really well done video and character style
