I never thought of using a that simple way of obliterating the default cube...
@CRogers4 жыл бұрын
2:00 You can also just add a mirror modifier before the screw modifier. That way you can adjust the distance between the two easier and non destructively.
Well played on annihilating the default cube. Also, thank you THANK you for this tutorial. I've been tasked with making an animation that involves several short sequences of DNA and this gives me some great techniques to build on. Especially now that I'm trying to get my studio to incorporate Blender into our pipeline.

You can get the same results in EEVEE by using the Object Info node instead of the Particle Info node. It also has a random output that currently works in blender that seems to work the same way for this project.

get that circle modifier and make it follow it. something like that. you could even make this grow in length too if you are wanting to figure that out.

When I try to copy or duplicate the string (around 11minutes) it gets stuck on the origin creating a spiral on the "ladder steps" and spreading them out from the original origin, I've spent 9 hours trying various stuff, and no joy, I can't copy it as it is in the vid, pulling hair out!
@3d_hive2953 жыл бұрын
As a solution you could copy the objects then paste then move it to wherever you would like in the scene

I am having some trouble here, and I was wondering if anyone could help me. @2:53, he says to add an empty axes. Mine does not look like it appears on the screen but his does. I have to go moving the bottom of the DNA strand in order to find the small crosshairs, and then move them to where is it located on the tutorial. After selecting the empty with the eyedropper, it turns into a box. Mine does not do that (doesn't do anything actually when clicked on). What am I doing wrong here? Also, how do I get the "empty" crosshairs where his are in the video and how do I make them bigger so that I can see where they are locate

Okay as promised I'm doing all your 2.8x tutorials and so far it is going great. I liked the Marvel one a lot and made it showing my friends name to make him enthousiastic for Blender! I also feel like you are a friend but one that would be a bit angry if I am working too slow so that's good :P I don't understand why you don't have more subs, maybe you should show your face on screen! Also put a patreon / paypal link so we can tip you! The only question I have this far is if I press Z i only get 4 options and you have like 6, what's up with that? Cya tomorrow
@BlenderMadeEasy5 жыл бұрын
Haha I'm glad you are enjoying them! I have thought about doing a patreon, I might set one up pretty soon here. To answer your question if you go to Edit>User Preferences>Keymap you will see an option for Extra Shading Pie Menu Items. If you click on that checkbox you will see the other options when you press Z.
