very cool video ! .... however i think it is very difficult understand how to assign an ifc material to an object in a project ....!!?? and i don't understand too how to create a new custom ifc material.... all of these things to use 4d and 5d features....

hey. 1. To create custom IFC Material go to "Material" section in "Properties", create new Blender Material and then use "Create IFC Material". To assign ifc material to the object go to "Object" section and then you can assign it in the "IFC Object Material" sub section. 2. 4D and 5D is not well documented now, you can find some example here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqHFiHl4qdaJpLc

Hi Luka, It's definitely on the list! I am just focussing on Native Ifc tutorials right at this minute. BIM is still a terribly explained concept even for architects, I'd say the best place to learn about it is on a youtube channel called @BimVoice , you can start with this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXyllYidp52mr9U Otherwise going to Building smart website which is responsible for the Ifc format and read up on it, they have to deal with understanding openBIM on a day to day basis and I feel they define it well, if very technically. www.buildingsmart.org/about/openbim/openbim-definition/

External material styles are very cool Could you provide a link to the "brick.blend" file or a description of how to make this file from texture files (*.png or *.jpg)?

i think without the full integration with inkscape, the 2d workflow of blender will remain for developer and advance users.

Hi, after starting an IFC project, blenderbim shows "No construction class" and " No library loaded" can you tell me why? i dont get access to walls , windows ..

I think it is part of the quantity sets (Qto's) ? But for certain I havent used it for that yet, try it out!

Can we convert 2d DWG or dxf file to 3d floor plan using this plugin ?

You can definitely import a DXF and trace it in BlenderBim, but it doesnt happen automatically sorry.

I don't know if my question is relevant to the subject (this addon) but i want to ask you if this addon can make 3D models that can be imported by DesignBuilder Software because its modeling interface is so basic & not really flexible like Blender. Thank you,

Since it is an open format Most programs can import .ifc files (which blenderbim creates) I am not too familiar with if Design builder does but my best bet is yes, try it out!

If you think something could be simpler or easier you are welcome to explain how and drop a feature request in the Github
