BLENDJET 2: Is it REALLY for everyone?

UPDATE: Hooray! As of Labor Day 2023, Blend Jet was offering a FREE 20oz vessel with the purchase of any of their blend jet2 blenders. Now, that is what I wish mine came with! At least now, you have room to actually add enough ingredients to make a protein drink!( Not sure how long this deal willl last, but it is a good value!
I'm not affiliated with, or compensated by BlendJet in any way. This is my review, (Pro's and Con's,) of the seen-everywhere & portable blender, known as BlendJet. If you are like me and already own a Vitamix blender, then you NEED to watch this! Since I'm celebrating my birthday this week I bought myself a little something, even though my kitchen is fully equipped with a powerful Vitamix. Now you can hear my honest review! As they say, "listen and learn."
*AFTER FILMING AND UPLOADING I FOUND A SIMILAR PORTABLE BLENDER AT ALDI- NOT REVIEWED BUT ADDED TO THE PHOTO. Note the smaller size capacity of the Aldi brand; 8oz! Even smaller than the original BlendJet and the BlendJet 2. (Not to mention the large and Xlg vessels I purchased.) In all fairness, it is only $15.00 compared the substantially more BlendJet. Let me know what you are loving or not, with your own BlendJet portable blender.

I love mine so far and I’m still learning. I’ve discovered blending with crushed ice doesn’t work well. The ice kind of all sticks together. Using whole ice cubes works much better but many times I have to start the BlendJet upside down. I still get some chunks so I blend 2 to 3 times. I use the pulse setting to stir up my smoothies in between sips. Keep experimenting. Maybe with more practice we’ll all get the hang of it. 16ozs is a good size for a morning smoothie or an alcoholic drink. There’s no comparison with the Vitamix and it’s not intended to compete. Totally agree. My review was really to get people thinking about if they REALLY need this blender, (it being hyped so heavily.) For someone who doesn't have a Vita Mix or travels a lot, then perhaps. I'm sure you received the notice regarding their recall. I kept mine, but keep it out in my Tiki Hut. 😉

HOPEFULLY, THEY HAVE WORKED THROUGH THE ISSUES. IT TOOK THEM OVER 3 MONTHS TO REPLACE MINE!

Apart from the fact that BlendJet has shown itself to be a very unreliable company making very poor products, I'm also concerned about the fact that they also use plastic for their products and particularly the jar. I've been waiting over 12 months for my recall replacements but now I just don't want them anyway. It's better to find a company that makes their personal blenders with good quality metal for the bases & toughened borosilicate glass for the jars. That way the very real risk of micro plastics contamination into the blended liquids is eliminated. I've now found a much better product here in Australia from a company called Zestee which is based in Perth, Western Australia. There are other companies also using better & safer materials than what Blendjet are using. Blendy & Blendaco are two other Australian based companies & Aura is another American company that is also based in California & the Aura personal blender looks to be far superior to that of BlendJet. It's so nice to tap the glass jar with a fingernail & hear the reassuring "tingle" of glass rather than the "thud" sound of cheap & nasty plastic. There is no real reason to purchase & use a Blendjet anyway when there are other companies based both in America & Australia, where I'm from, that are making far superior products.

You are spot on. I did not like the performance of the Blendjet One. It left chunks of ice in my smoothie. It worked for a few years intermittently then died. I contacted the company, and they didn't offer to troubleshoot. They said it was discontinued and I could buy the new model for 25% off. I said no thanks.

They also have had issues with the unit I purchased. They have yet to send me the replacement. It has been or 2 months since I relinquished mine...still waiting!

I love my Vitamix but haven't used it since getting a Blendjet 2. I make a protein shake every day.

I had a blenjet which wouldn't hold a charge and eventually stopped charging all together. I put it in the garbage and bought a Ninja blast. We'll see how that holds up.

Maybe you can try OUSMIN 300W Portable Blender? The caliber on the top is very small, it is said that this is to prevent children's hands from accidentally sticking in.

It is possible to prevent it from starting, hold the button for three seconds and that will put it in lock mode, repeat this to take it out of lock mode.

Thanks for mentioning that. I did show the information included with the BlendJet in the video. However, I think my main concern is most people won't do that every time, and after the child sees it in action, may want o check it out themselves. Of course, not a problem if there aren't any children in your home.😉

Thanks for the review. Costco currently (11/27/23) has the Blendjet 2 for $49.99. The box contains 2 separate units. I wanted to know if it would blend ice. Sounds like it's not for me. I currently use an older Vitamix that works great. I was looking for something more portable and to get the Vitamix off the counter.

That is definitely a great price for 2! You could always give one as a gift to someone who is not as concerned about the super blended ice. If I traveled, stayed in campground, or just needed a "travel" bleneder, I would have been more pleased. It is hard to compete with the Vitamix sitting in the kitchen.😏

Bought mine at Costco last weekend, didn’t do ice but it’s good with frozen fruit. Also if something happens Costco return policy is like no other.

Did you do more than one round of blending? Because some ingredients require more than one round…

I did try it on several items. Once it chewed everything up it still had hunks of ice. If I'm not using ice, I think it will be okay. However, I have my Vitamix sitting right there. But like I said in the video, it is great for traveling/ beach days, in other words, uses out side of of the house!

EXACTLY! That is why I tried to make the point, IF I didn't have a Vitamix, or IF I really wanted a "travel" mini blender. The hype around this blender makes it seem like everyone needs one. Just not sure we all do.

Blend jet works fine for me. If I find pieces are not blended as well, I put it through a second cycle and it’s fine. I have almost no counter space, and it fits beautifully. I think it all depends on your use. I have no young children, so I’m good. I just make smoothies with frozen fruit, and it works very well. For one person, the original container holds enough. Cleaning it is the cherry on the cake. In a minute or two, it blends the soapy water, it’s rinsed and in my drain board.

Thanks for giving the reasons behind WHY it is perfect for you. That really was my point in the video, that it is not "bad" but perhaps not for everyone. @@MichaelSchwartz-xc2bc
