The fact that you brought up Nubia knowing her history is due to the end of Dark Nights: Death Metal (or Doomsday Clock) when every character in DC history has remembered their histories (prime and alternate from every Crisis).

Nubia or Nu'bia been thrown in to the same DC boat as Donna Troy and Power girl, fractured and mismatch origins that DC still trying to reconcile also notice how Diana has taken Nubia's original weapons of a Sword and a Shield. Let's hope this latest crisis finally sorts things out for them all. All great an powerful characters just being being messed with for no real fathomabal reason other than writers whims... but then thats comics at times for ya

It would make sense that Nubia is from Sudan or southern Egypt because that’s where the Kingdom of Nubia, a.k.a. the Kingdom of Kush is located. Also, the creators of DC Comics should have made Immortal Queen Amanirenas call herself Nubia because it would have been so unique, and it would have made sense. Naming a character a Nubia from Madagascar makes no sense whatsoever.
