Africans were war-hardened also just spread thin and fractured by customs and religions. Most wars in Africa wasn’t won by Europeans through bloodshed but the display of weapons. Chiefs and rulers said F-it I’m not going to throw away my peoples lives so easily. If Africa kicked Europeans asses all throughout history until Gatling guns and cannons were invented and used.

Blerd - really appreciate the bit about the Arrakii being analogous to African and African descent people - especially as the X titles, while seeped from inception as "representative" (mutant being an "other" - despite other metas being more mainstreamed).....in many respects, what's exciting about the "X" titles presently is seeing them explore some greater militancy as a group - and the Arrakii as being a mirror - in some ways - of their experiences. Always enjoy your stuff! Hope your kids love it as well.

Death may be similar to Gorgon in the sense that he needs something to tame his powers. However, Gorgon has been shown without a blindfold, glasses, or with a cutout blindfold (eyes visible) on several occasions and not turn people to stone. As advanced as Death is, I think he may be able to do the same, but I could be wrong. I see helmet of Anubis as both a symbol and a device to keep his power in check.

The Ted Talk lol...it’s not a mistake the Arakii are drawn more “blackish”...Apocalypse is Egyptian, his wife and Isca are presumably Egyptian or some other African ancestry, so all of their children are as well, reflected more so in their costumes, but of course by time you get to Summoner, I’m sure his father Brakken being from wherever he was influenced Summoner’s non-African features...and of course by the time you get to Chamber, well, he’s white. Modern Egyptians I believe consider themselves ethnically Arab but ancient Egyptians like Apocalypse and his family could very have had more African features and would otherwise look like black Africans if they were normal humans. And I think as smart as the X-Men writers are they probably didn’t give any of that too much thought other than “Apocalypse is Egyptian, throw some of that look into his family”.

Wha.. what's this about Brian reclaiming Excalibur? Amulet of Wisdom? Do you mean the Amulet of Right which Betsy has destroyed, and Saturnyne already claimed she wanted it destroyed? The pic at 14:37 = the "lift the right sword" Saturnyne talked about was if Brian accepted the Starlight Sword she created especially for him. And "reclaim the mantle you were destined for" she meant his role as Captain Britain. What she wanted was him to be her boy-toy and enforcer. Sorry but I don't think she would really call things off if Brian did agree to be her boy-toy. She's got a manipulative streak and a bone to pick that has nothing to do with what's in Brian's pants and everything to do with both Krakoa and Arakko forces rampaging through her kingdom as they did in events that lead to this.

I feel like the secret flaw to Isca’s power is that she can only win things that have a win/lose outcome. Like what if you weren’t trying to beat her, and in fact you’re actively trying to lose to her? If she can’t lose, how does she win a game where the winner has to lose?

Which should have been a loophole somebody used on her. That or if she somehow psionically enforces her win by unconsciously manipulating people, places and things she's challenged by, maybe a high level telepath could trick her (rather trick her power) into believing she's won when she's actually misdirected to fight forever (or challenged virtually by new things in a telepathic simulation she can't lose at so she never gets to her fight in the real world - basically stuck in a tower battle with no top floor)

I’m a bit confused of how suddenly even the OP omega level Krakoans suddenly are dwarfed by the powers of the Arrako mutants. What Saturnyne did just doesn’t mesh, so Josh Foley can resurrect the dead, Hope can mimic this and Jean can route the powers through Honey Badger so the 2 don’t die out. You have Eva Bell and Tempus who can control time and localize it to the invading army, Magneto can generate a bio EMP for to knock out the brain and spines of the invaders too. Iceman and Storm to freeze dry them and Vulcan to reroute energy attacks. And if Magik can port them out of Otherworld can’t she port the invaders somewhere say Limbo, the Sun or have Lila Cheney do the same trick? If a psi-bomb exploded then wouldn’t the mutants of Arakko need their own Psis to shield them, doesn’t Krakoa have and over abundance of them too plus ShadowKing and Exodus? Won’t Emma Survive the psi bomb in diamond form? Plus s there is still Legion and Empath who can hit groups en masse with infatuation and have them turn on their allegiances. Asgardians came, there are magic users like Magik and Selene (summon their own hordes of demons). I highly doubt the mutants of Arrako are immune to the latest legacy virus strain or M-Pox?

They wasted way to many issues playing who gets a sword. Those issues were wasted and did nothing to move the story forward. Otherwise not a bad story once it actually kicked in.

Oddly enough some of the paths to attaining the swords could have been great stories (especially to pay off consequences later re:Storm/Wakanda, and Wolverine/Solem) but some of these fights and twists to the fights have been handled a bit too silly for how serious the stakes were made out to be
