100% with you about Rated-R not automatically making anything better. One hopes they approached it from the pov that they have so much authentic sword, sai, staff, nunchuck, mace, arrow and shuriken violence to convey that anything less than an R rating would confine the action in their TMNT plan too much. I'm a little worried it may end up feeling like they could have done just enough with PG13, but I also get that they want to make "older kids" [i.e., us adults] feel like we're finally getting the Turtles as they were originally depicted in their harder core black and white first runs, before they became pizza kids. I also suspect they want room to tell that new origin involving them being kids in feudal Japan and how they met their fates.

Morrison's NEW X-MEN run has been adapted before. His run was LOSELY/PARTLY adapted in the X-MEN ANIME. As for who was responsible for the destruction of Genosha in this series, my theory is that it is either Hodge, Ahab, Bastion, Mister Sinister, Onslaught, Magneto, Pierce, Shadow King, or the Entity (the "original" Prof X evil twin which is a being that is a manifestation of all of Prof X's dark desires).

Cassandra Nova is too convoluted even for the animated series. Bastion was in that picture with Forge in LIFEDeath. Bastion , a combination of Nimrod and Master Mold in connection with the man that made the sentinel technology that stole Storm's powers. Operation Zero Tolerance and E is for Extinction will be the inspiration for the Tolerance Is Extinction three parter.

I'm not even mad at anyone that believes Cassandra will be behind it because audiences have been conditioned to not know when a small or big hint is supposed to mean more or when it's just a wink and nod to what is inspiring the adaptation they're looking at. Personally I think Cable is referring to Bastion too, but since Tri-headed and Wild Sentinels, and the very extinction of Genosha is all due to her, I can see people eager to be right she's being hinted.

In regards to 97’ I did think it was Nova because of that particular sentinel and me currently reading the New X-men Omnibus so I don’t think it makes anyone foolish for assuming that. Could it be a mix yes very much so.

Yeah, it does sound a touch harsh when he says it like he did, but I assume that he's aiming that more towards the ones that proclaim things like it can't be anything else other than her. Truth be told, it's an easy clue to her since the wild sentinel Genoshan massacre is literally one of the things she's most known for, but it's pretty clear they're mixing things together to cover multiple events and give us something slightly remixed and fold it under a more streamlined big baddie (e.g., the less convoluted way Cable gets the techno-organic virus from Sinister instead of the ininvolvement of Apocalypse). My money's on Bastion. Who knows, maybe they'll loop back to it in season 2 or 3 to "reveal" Cassandra backed him or some such to do more than pay homage to her.
