I think Hydra Cap was the first reason why I started paying attention to Ernie.. This is how this man gets his foot in the door.. Not by wind, not by his tongue, or by the hairs on his chin... but by how he sees the threads.. That connects it all...

I think people missed the point of the Dead X-Men mini: sure, it was played up like they had a super important mission, but really this was ALWAYS a smart -throw-a-bone- title. Just like Forge's little mission with Banshee, Tempo, etc., this was their way of doing something with the losers of the X-Vote for a slot on the X-Men. They just played it out different. When Polaris won, she served on the team on the pages of the X-Men. Juggernaut won, and he survived Nimrod's Gala entrance, while they *pretended* like they were giving us an X-Men team with everyone that was in the vote. "Let's say these other 5 are walking away for their reasons, then announce this team, kill 5 of the 6 off, then have circumstances play out following the true characters after all." was basically the trick. The events still followed Cyclops (trial), Phoenix (rebirthing), Sync and Talyn (running the underground team), Firestar (secret mission), and Juggernaut (captive with Cyke, then off to rescue Krakoa - granted, he didn't get as much of a close up as would be expected as a winner of the spot, but hey). There were never long term plans for the DXM. Sorry Sam, Jubes, Dazz, Frenzy and Prodigy. As for how much Ironman factored in, that was fitting if one thinks of the alternative of the other side of that complaint had he not: *"How's Stark's name on the deadliest sentinels yet and he chilling on a space base not helping mutants? ...and why are no other Avengers helping?"* It's a realer world when the Avengers aren't looking past a systemic attempt to wipe out the mutants, and the only thing stopping Thor is Storm's insistance that she handle Arakko's civil war as a mutants only affair (while Nova stayed on life support), and the active team stuck to indirect acts (T'Challa helping plant 3D Man) and held for Tony's word go (Avengers doing hit and runs on Orchis bases), or forming a A/X team to handle a petal (Uncanny Avengers dealing with Stevil et al). What would have been cool to see is non-active Avengers (any of the 100+) chipping in here ane there, much like Alpha Flight tried to.

@@ismaelhayes9317 Yeah, no shade was meant about it whatsoever. I was just musing about the point of the series not being to take these characters far or establish them as a true long term team. A good mini-series sometimes takes a small aspect of the whole and resolves or expands on it. This one was never about them defeating Chrono-Moira (Rachel basically deus ex machinad that) but it unintentionally brought a key piece back to help with the Phoenix resurrection (the M'kraan shard) and revealed that Moira's other timelines weren't erased with her death (or their presence caused them to diverge and continue). That's also why I didn't mind how little Wolverine played in the final parts of the main stories, his portion was wrapped up in his own title and in X-Force.

Lost, the JJ Abrams TV show from the early 2000’s? Dropped and/or unexplained plot lines. The ending was tragically disappointing. Just google it and I’m not saying that to be tacky as some people do. I’m telling you to google it because there have been people who have explained the disappointment surrounding Lost much better than I can without doing research. It’s been close to twenty years so some of the details are kinda foggy. lol.

I would absolutely still say that X-Men fell off after Hickman left &that the issues with X-of-Swords were due to Tini Howard's involvement. And that X-of-Swords was the first sign that the inmates were running the asylum &Hickman was loosing his power/control in the X-office. Look no further than Gotham War to see the detrimental impact Tini Howard can have on an event book; Howard co-wrote the worst Batman event in 25yrs &possibly the worst ever Batman event ever written

My relationship with Tie-Ins is complicated. I know a lot are unrelared to the outcome of the main event title, but many take a thread from it and resolve it in an interesting way. They often also give characters that get no shine a little more room. I never expected Iceman to make his way back over to factor into FotHoX or RotPoX; Mary hardly ever factors into X shenanigans so I expected the time in Realm of X to just get closer to or solve Magik's power block problems; and several of the other titles served to show mutants plucking petals of Orchis off. Main titles like Wolverine and X-Force gave us a ton of Wolverine, so it was also good that HoX/PoX proper focused of others. They can be hit or miss because nothing post-event sometimes comes of them, but I do recognize the strategy of letting them veer away and remain open ended, and appreciate it.

Jordan White is his protege &there's a bunch more of Krakoa in the X-Men then most people think; maybe it goes away by issue three of all the titles but Kraoka feels pretty alive &well to me. The mutants just aren't living on the island any more which is fine at least what took place during the last run has cause &effect into the new run. I wish it was wiped-out &some time travel shit did go down but then the entire Marvel universe would need to be reset &I'm over all that.

honestly we got the best ending we could a lot of times these thing dont always finish of as great as they start, but I wish they would have held out on some of the idea they did in fall of x for afterwards, like I could see uncanny spider man, dark, xmen, wolverine, alpha flight etc take place after all this obviously the story would have to change some what since orcas would be around but I could see them not change much and fit in with the from the ashes stuff. But any way glad the krakoan era is done with it was great but look back now it kinda limited the kind x storys that could be had.
