I feel like ridley is constantly disrespecting tchalla in his own book. Like in every chapter tchalla is getting beat and disrespected by his own people and others it's crazy. I feel like they are gonna kill him off like they're doing it the mcu, first they kill his character then take his life I'm done with this comic smh

I’ve been feeling the same. Since he’s dead in the MCU that they’d kill him in the comics. Although they haven’t done that to any other MCU character…Widow, Ronan, etc. BUT I’m hoping what Ridley is really doing is building a major redemption for T’Challa. Pointless since Coates already wrote T’Challa a redemption story not long ago and left him in a good place that Ridley just crapped all over.

Also agreed! The worst thing about this run is dissolving the Black Panther / Storm relationship AGAIN. Especially after it was put back in just the previous run to this. Marvel almost hates marriage and lasting relationships in general so it’s not too surprising. And I find it’s mainly black people that want them together.

Not to mention T'Challa is a master H2H and is one of the smartest men on earth, on top of all that he has 1billion years of every BP. Plus T'Challa is stronger seeing as he stop both a rhino and a elegant (no enhanced suit this was his basic nonr vibranium suit) What I'm saying is Ridley will make it as if there is no competition for Cap

Tchalla literally channel 1,000,000 years of knowledge, fighting styles/experiences from the 5,000 black panthers that came before him. Tchalla should be a better fighter then Steve by now. I think it was even hinted when they both had the phoenix force.

I think some of these writers like to tell their own story without building on the established cannon, or at least not in the way they should. You don't have to take everything but at least keep the main points. It's kind of like how things were changing in Thor's comics like about who was his real mother and things like that. It was starting to get a little crazy.

This plot twist was the best part of this run, but the ride to get here has been muddy and the dialogue felt unnatural to a Black Panther comic. There’s certainly ways to break down characters with a series of tragic events, but I don’t think we needed one for T’Challa. I don’t think we needed THIS story at this time. It wasn’t a great transition from the Intergalactic Empire. Not terrible but it felt rushed. I would have loved a few more stories in the IEW, and maybe all of this drama takes T’Challa back there. Great breakdown BWF!

Why does every story plot with Black Panther involving civil wars with his own country? I mean Dr. doom has more control over his country. Plus his people want him to rule over them. Not to say there hasn’t been coups in his own country. Yet, looking at Black Panther there’s always a civil war happening in his country.

I’ve been saying this for a while. Literally every run is a civil war when we’re constantly told (up until Coates run) that Wakanda is an amazing and advanced place. It’s a shame Doctor Doom is a better ruler (or ruler at all) at this point.

Right. It definitely read as gay boyfriends in the first arc. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them kiss and they say T’Challa is bisexual, going with the typical excuse “just because we’ve only seen him in relationships with multiple women (Monica Lynne, Nikki Adams, Storm) and he’s only ever shown to be attracted to women in his existence since the 60s (Malaika, Invisible Woman, Monica Rambeau), doesn’t mean he doesn’t like men, too!”
