@@ellafebrianii oh dude for sure you can try early The Devil Wears Prada. Their first 3 albums are perfect. August Burns Red goes hard to this day. I’m not exaggerating when I say every single albums throws down hard. Early Parkway Drive is also some badass Metalcore. Post Hardcore’s more mellow but some bands that slap I recommend From First to Last, Silverstein, A Skylit Drive, Greeley Estates. There’s so many good bands with the 00’s ‘core sound it’d take time to make a list

Hate to be the one to get all genre specific, but I guess I kinda just had to lol (my friend's a huge death metal lover and he taught me a lot about the differences in metal genres.) The rhythms in this are quite different from Death, save for the aggressive kicks maybe. Death metal involves a lot faster playing and I could see where you would mix up this awesome and quite technical-sounding guitar riff with that style. Another thing, maybe just because I'm kinda just accustomed to hearing more Death Metal stuff, the overall sound of the average Death Metal band varies in that some are more sinister sounding, some are just purely brutal (don't get me wrong, this is pretty hard but the use of rhythm and melody to make something 'brutal' is applied differently lol. I tried to talk like I know about music, but I really don't :P. I guess in summary what I mean is that the sound is just quite different from Death Metal bands, haha. P.S The guy who said the combination of cleans and screams make it metalcore: August Burns Red, man. August Burns Red.

***** Oh, cool lol. I just figured I may as well have mentioned the August, didn't guess that you would've known them. I understand the variants of metalcore and other genres of metal because I've been listening for quite a while. What you said about the breakdowns is probably the most logical thing any metalhead has said about breakdowns (except not all are slow, but that is a thing that changes with genre lol). I'm only so OCD about the definitions because if I was listening to a Death Metal mix, I just wouldn't wanna hear this out of nowhere, feel me?
