It demands hard effort and committal which the guys there really delivered. Otherwise we would need to live in a world with quotas and only partial commit to merit.

I know this is an old comment, but I wanted to say that I don't think her point was that diversity alone is why Bletchley succeeded. Obviously, everyone present worked very hard. Her point was that a diverse group of people tends to have different manners of approaching problem solving, due to different backgrounds, which likely contributed to their success. This is in direct contrast to the Nazis, who of course only employed a specific kind of person.
