Hey Jeff, I am the shrines player at the beginning of the video. Honestly, I never expected to see an MTG creator I know while I was just messing around in unranked play queue with my jank 5 color Yorion shrines. I really wish I could have given you and your viewers a better show, but I think you can catch the exact point in the video at which my draws started going south and I missed the land drop. Also let's be honest, unless I get quite lucky with draws and exiling, witherbloom is not a good matchup for me (being able to dodge wipes with plumb and learn containment breach might have something to do with it.) Having said that, it was a blast to face off against you and I hope I will be able to embarrass myself in one of your videos again with some (hopefully better) jank!

I am currently playing two Blex decks in historic BO1 and they are actually leading me to diamond. 1- tribal blex spiders: super cool, it works but it still needs some fixes; 2- Blex underworld dreams/peer into the abyss. This seriously works. I don't care about the +1/+1 lord effect, I play Blex only to distract the opponent. On the other hand, In Search Of Blex is incredibly effective when looking for the right piece for the combo, more lands, or a board wipe. Very nice card indeed. Have a nice day everyone :-)

Hey Jeff, I love your Videos! I have an amazing deck built around tend the pests and Blex. A lot of Strixhaven cards in there in general. It got me to mythic within my first month of playing magic. Lord blex can do very well if you get a full play set of both scoot swarm and Arista of the endless webs in this deck, I'd cut tend the pests and witherbloom apprentice to fit them.

well if you want to go black green blex i suggest you add arasta of the endless web but i personally have had more luck with him in a sultai build that focus on trying to double masters blex/echo equation while also using orvar and sedgemoor for so many tokens and giving my creature trample trough garruk's uprising. still abit clunky at times but is really fun

blex tribal work fine with idol of endurance. You can cast the sorcery side to get the idol and than recast it for 2. Unfortunately white is bad color for the tribal scheme.

Game 1 you should have used bloodchiefs thirst on your own pest for the last point of damage and then again in game 2 with heartless act

I think Blex is probably best as a commander than a deck leader. I mean when you went wide and aggro you had token wins by the same logic that most token maker decks have. The twin deans also helped in some scenarios and I think it's obvious that Stonecoil serpent is still a pretty decent bit of tech but Blex rarely came in and neither did Beledros. She just sort of sat there totally worthless. I hate suggest jerk tech but Binding of the Old Gods and Back for More could offer removals and threat increases for less cost and certainly won't sit around in yoru hand forever or require more mana ramp. Though if you do that maybe teching out Blex in general would be better. I like the array he can lord but maybe if you don't want to make it 100% control try historic? There's some good old snakes and bats I think in there. It's either that or Golgari mutate stuff but I think other than Dirgebat you'll find that too slow for pests.
