Also here are some beginner tips 1. if you see a rock with an “x” and you have a bomb you should explode the rock it gives cool stuff 2. be careful with some items you might find they may end your run The items you shouldn’t get Strange attractor, it looks like a black magnet Soy milk, it looks like a cup with milk(soy milk is good with some items but horrible alone) Bob’s brain, it looks like a green brain Number one, it looks like a golden teardrop (There is a lot of items that can end your run but those are the most common 3. there is items that may make you win like: Magic mush:a red and white mushroom (There is also a lot of items that may make you win but I don’t remember 4. Also be careful with colorful fire they can hit you with their projectiles 5. Donations are good since the more you give the better the shop is 7. After the first floor all gold rooms will need a key 8. The little guy you spawned are pretty good when you have a lot of money because they give good stuff 9. The batteries are used when your space key item isn’t 10. try not to take damage since it gives you a devil deal room witch gives you PRETTY GOOD stuff (17:31)

6:14 there is a tinted/marked stone, they can be blown up and give useful stuff like soul hearts(blue hearts), money, bombs, keys, chests or even items 6:36 orange fire is normal, red fire can shoot you, blue fire can only be destroyed with bombs and may drop soul hearts, purple fire can shoot homing tears and also can only be destroyed with bombs and drop soul hearts 7:54 donation machine, you give it money and it keeps it for every run, you can also take money from it by blowing it up with bombs, there are multiple milestones for it that unlock items for you, also red price means a discount is applied to the price 12:26 this guy takes your coins and drops you other things, eventually he gives you a health upgrade honestly i had this comment in edit for like 10 minutes pointing out information but then my internet decided to go down and it all vanished im just gonna say that there is a wiki for the game and that could be helpful, probably will be on the stream to point out some stuff

Two things: You should always play on hard, it unlocks more stuff and isn’t that different from normal. Second, the DLCs makes the game much, much better and I would highly recommend getting them Can’t wait for more!

That's not it, it was Soy Milk Proptosis, the tears shrink too quickly and just die out. Bob's Brain was probably alright considering the short range stuff. Lost contact is not great imo. If your tears (as in tear rate) are not good enough you have a hard time hitting stuff. I only take it with brimstone really. I guess it kinda works with Soy Milk tho. Edit: Oh, and proptosis is fantastic, the end of the range still does more damage than not taking it, it's just real bad with Soy Milk. Soy Milk can work, but most of the times it doesn't. With Libra it's a no brainer, top tier combo

Let me explain secret rooms. 1. There are two types of secret rooms, the regular ones and the super secret rooms 2. Regular secret rooms appear next to normal rooms, but only in the middle of the rooms and not near next to pits or the boss room. If many rooms are next to each other that meet the requierments, then the secret room is probably there. 3. Super secret rooms are only next to one room and that room is usually near the boss room, but the requierments for it to spawn is the same as the regular room (no pits or boss). 4. Regular secret rooms are pretty decent and can get you into the shop or goldroom without a key. They can have mini-bosses though. 5. Super secret rooms can give you health, pills(they can have positive and negative effects), runes (they can protect you from damage for a few seconds, do damage to enemies, double items on the floor, like chests or health etc.) or be completely useless, like a black poop that can give you a coin, but it's unlikely That's everything I know, if I forgot anything, let me know.

Papa, The little guy Of The judgement gives you trinkets, cards, soul Hearts, for coins. There are secret rooms and you have to put a bomb in a wall, there are only 2 per floor. Also, you missed Satan's room where you can make pacts to get strong items, but you sacrifice red Hearts. The dice room has different numbers that do different things, number 1 rerolls your entire run and items. Btw get The DLC The binding Of Isaac afterbirth + Can't wait for more!

Secret rooms tend to be in a space between a lot of rooms. If you take a look at the map, there might be a black space and 3 or 2 rooms around said blank space. There might be a secret there. But the secret can never be in a place where one of the rooms around it don't give access to it (like rocks on the "entrance") The door is always on the place a regular door would be: in the middle of the wall It cannot be adjacent to a boss room You can abuse the secret room to enter adjacent shops without a key Hope it helps ;)

You should purchase the avaliable DLC's, as they make the natural progression feel so much smoother, plus it gets you more used to different attack patterns, and also to learn more about the game in general, but be careful though, this game has a tendancy to keep you latched for at least hundreds of hours lmao

Also, there are slightly discolored rocks with crosses on them that give you soul hearts. In addition, there are secret rooms. Use bombs to open up holes in walls to them. There’s a lot of stuff you have to learn. But with time and practice you will become a great player. :3

Secret rooms are commonly found between two rooms. One room on the left and right, the space in the middle is where the secret rooms are. They can hold a variety of things and sometimes bosses. Also, remember what the tarot cards do, some are more helpful then the rest :]

You did really well for a first run papa. I'd advise if you see any bluish rocks to blow them up, as they contain grey hearts and sometimes other items, and mushrooms can drop mushroom power ups.

What happened with the red rood is that it was a Dice room. Those have an effect of rerolling things, which can be either on the same room, on the entire floor, or your held items (which is what happened to you). As for the items that you got, you kinda got screwed over since you got less range and Bob's Brain (the green thing that follows you around, and when you shoot it lunges forward, trying to explode upon contact with an enemy), but you also got shield tears, which make you break all projectiles by shooting at them. So, not entirely horrible. PS: the wobbly worm makes your shots to "wobble" (your tears get bigger and smaller at certain intervals), making them have a larger hitbox. You just couldn't see it due to the short range item that you had.

Here is what happened : You had one of the best items in the game (Monstro's Lung aka The Shotgun) but stepping on the dice in the sealed room re-rolled your stuff and gave you a shitty anti-combo (Soy Milk + Proptosis). Also, when a dark door spawns after beating the boss, it leads to a devil deal.There you can trade heart containers for powerful items, it is one of the most important mechanics of the game so make sure you visit those :) Hope you enjoy the game !

Also another thing new players miss is that some rocks hold secrets. the tells are either different colour or marks like an x shape. These secret rocks get harder to distinguish the further down the levels you are.

The game gets quite elaborate after a first few wins, and some interactions might not be obvious, but the joy/pain of exploring is something I would not rob you of if you wish to experience it. that room at 30:00 is a rerolling room, so when you step on the platform, everything you have is rerolled - every item you have is replaced by a random item, and your stats are randomized(i think)

A lot of people here are giving gameplay advice but they’re failing to mention something more important than that. If you go into the settings there is a option to activate a hud and it’ll show you the items you have on the right of your screen and your stats on the left. It’s also not very intrusive so you don’t have to worry about that

There are 2 secret rooms on each floor, you never know exactly where they are, but one has a bigger chance of being in a place where multiple rooms touch it, the room must be accessible from all adjacent rooms so if there are rocks where the room entrance should be in one of the adjacent rooms the secret room will not spawn in that location. Also cannot be adjacent to narrow rooms. The second one is the complete opposite as it can be adjacent to only one other room NORMAL room. So no shop or curse room or treasure room. this room also has the quirk of being usually the closest room to the boss room.

you can either find secret rooms with the card "The moon" or several items, like the Spelunker Hat. The Pill "I can see forever" will also reveal them. otherwise you will have to guess where they are by putting a bomb next to a wall where a door would be.

Hard mode is not much more difficult than easy. The only difference is drop rates of consumables like pennies, keys, bombs, cards, pills and hearts in their many forms. The benefits of hard mode is that some items must be unlocked by completing certain bosses in hard mode. I am not suggesting you immediately jump into hard mode, I am just saying you shouldn’t be too scared of hard mode.

Papa, if you found a secret room with an dummy that has chatbubble with Text "i am error" ur lucky. It some times give good thing and Let you pass your current level/stage. There are two types of rooms you can find at end of boss fight. 1.) devil room= most common actually all you have to do is to not get damage with red hearts. It gives really good items literally good items like example: brimstone, and other stuffs lol but my fav is brimstone with technology but it exchanges with red hearts or any hearts. 2.) angel room= hard to get you need to avoid dark hearts and not attend devil deals. It gives free items with super good items like godhead, sacred heart?, the soul, mind, body, some kind of great crown. If you explode the angel it awakens it and attacks you similar to boss fight but if you kill it rather than giving random items it gives you key piece that opens satan's room. An pretty hard boss tbh but delirium and hush has one of the highest health. Really recommend using afterbirth+ with debug menu since it lets you synergize. Some times you can find rocks with x in it. It gives soul hearts, bomb, key, coins, chests, tiny rock, underground secret item room, and most importantly black markets. Tip: if attending the chest stage save many keys as possible.
