Indeed, I myself was recently on the receiving end of a con artist because I have a similar tendency as Flutters on trusting others. I have however made peace with it and am not letting it turn me into a cynical person. I have made the choice to still be who I am because if I allow myself to fundamentally change from this the con artist wins, and that is something I will not let them do.

I don't know why everyone insists Ahuizotl's plan in Daring Don't makes this a continuity error. It doesn't. -His plan specifically was "800 years of heat in the Tenochtitlan Basin". Beforehand, there as no motive to this, while now it makes sense as a desperate way to keep Daring & Caballeron away from there after a few books of conflict (Remember, Daring Don't takes place somewhere in the middle of the Daring Do arc). -He had a group of natives helping him in that episode, and I really don't think a group of natives that have the actual knowledge of these artifacts and their effects being against Daring paints her as the good guy in the story. -His only other remotely evil thing referenced in the series was a fight with Daring Do in Somnambula. Now, you may question why he tracked her all the way over there if his post is in the Tenochtitlan Basin, but look closer. The artifacts RD talks about in her recap of the story have the same Meso-Aztec naming scheme that everything else in the Tenochtitlan Basin has (While Somnambula's naming scheme tends to be Egypt-Middle Eastern), so it's likely that these artifacts were brought to Somnambula (During a previous book?) and Ahuizotl simply followed after it. In short, everyone headcanoned him as a definite villain because he was partly presented as one in previous Daring Do episodes, while never being explicitly confirmed to be. You may say it contradicts how he's presented in previous episodes, but remember; in the previous episodes we mostly saw him from the lens of Daring's book series, and only one time was that not the case (That one time being the "800 years of heat" plan but I already explained that). The episode's whole point is that Daring Do's look on the situation is skewed and she doesn't have the full picture. Sure, it's obvious this wasn't planned from the start, but I think it's dishonest to insinuate that it doesn't make sense in light of what we saw in the show.

This was a great episode! This is why fluttershy is my favourite pony, I don’t get why people hate this episode, it’s Phenomenal. I give it a 9/10.
@krwizard59915 жыл бұрын
The reasons people hate this episode are simple, 1) They think Fluttershy is an idiot in this episode. Just like Twilight think Pinkie is an idiot in A Trivial Pursuit. 2) Most people can't accept the fact that Ahuizotl is an aggressive type of person. 3) The moral is retcon because they think in politics direction, those people are so stupid; nobody tell them to use this moral in politics. 4) Because Nicole Duboc the one who wrote this episode, she wrote a lot awkward episodes and one abomination episode. I found this is her best written episode ever, those who hate this episode they just sad; they just jealous of Fluttershy kindness and her awesomeness for being the best pony ever.

My explanation of Ahuizotal's 800 year heat debacle was that Auizotal was driven to try anything to get ponies out of his land. So, by reuniting artifacts he was protecting albeit activating a curse, 800 years of heat would have push theives out of his land while affecting the humid jungle little if it all. Plus, his villainous take could have easily developed from his rage and others assumptions of it.

2:49 mild mannered my ass. Guy has literally left ponies to DIE! Ain't nothing mild mannered about freaking MURDER! 7:03 good grief. Caballeron isn't even TRYING to hide his accent. His disguise makes Daring's A.K. Yearling disguise look clever. Sheesh. 8:50 yeah, I called BS on this backstory the moment I first heard it. Only true things in it are Daring holding on to certain artifacts and likely him offering a team up, though the former is because some of them are probably too dangerous to just leave in a museum and the latter because he thought it'd be easier to get illegal money if Daring worked with him. 15:44 good grief, Caballeron's overacting is worse and more obvious than Rarity's. 21:38 yeah, I still question the whole idea of Ahuizotl being a good guy just trying to protect the artifacts thing. Did the writers forget the whole thing in Daring Don't where he was fully ready to subject the area around the temple to 800 years of sweltering heat? You can't just go and say he was doing that for a good reason. The type of sweltering heat he was talking about would kill everything around the temple, turning it into a desert wasteland. That's hardly PROTECTING the Jungle. That's outright eradicating it. Unless he meant a *different* kind of heat, in which case... yeah, that's still kinda messed up, even if it were likely because of an animal or tribal ponies population decline. Figuring out the truth requires investigation. Otherwise one is just trying to figure out what news to trust.

Quite a shame this is how it ends for Daring Do on the final season. There could’ve been more to explore with A.K. Yearling and not end it with Ahizoutl turning good. Blank, please hear me out! You don’t speak too often to commenters, but here goes: The way I pictured it is with Daring Do now unable to explore those familiar parts of Ahuizotl’s jungle, perhaps Zecora can help accompany and serve as her guide in the same manner Indiana Jones has with his different sidekicks in another uncharted, unfamiliar part of Equestria.
